Same spoiler as before about next week's episode's settingMurrin wrote:...Why the hell are Jin and Sun sitting having an intimate conversation together in English?
Edit: Okay, finished the episode. Fairly satisfying overall, but I still think Jin and Sun spent more time speaking English to each other than felt right.
As for where the stage stands now, we have a set up for the rest of the season to be Locke versus everyone else, and with Locke now openly trying to kill the candidates we can expect to see more of those two children who keep popping up to torment him and tell him he's not allowed to do this. This'll allow us to get deeper into why he wants this, and why he is not allowed to kill them directly. Desmond will return next episode, and he'll have to be the one who provides us with a goal for the season - what they need to do to repair things and take up the role of Jacob's replacement.
In the sideways, Jack is beginning to get a little spooked about the fact that everyone he encounters turns out to have shared the same flight with him. Maybe with desmond reappearing it's time for Jack to have his awakening.
Lost--Season 6 - Spoilers Abound!!!

Nah, it seems like next week won't have any regular characters, only Jacob and MiB, and their personal war. If Desmond returns, it's likely to be the following episode, which is the next to last.

This is my guess as to how the last three episodes will progress:
"Across the Sea": The history of the island.
"What They Died For": the parallel time-line ends with us seeing what happens when Jacob's nemesis is set loose upon the Earth (hence what "they," i.e. Jin, Sun, and Sayid, died, as candidates to prevent that loosing, for).
"The End": Jack or Kate saves the world. I'm conflicted about who I'd rather pull it off (unless they do it together?): Jack because he's my hero, or Kate because she's not one of the numbers (Lostpedia says hers from the cave wall/lighthouse was 51; if the candidates are somehow connected to the factors in the Valenzetti equation that need to be changed to stop the end of humanity, then wouldn't the one person whose candidacy # differed from the rest stand a good chance of being the one who changes those factors and, by stopping Jacob's nemesis, averting ultimate damnation?)? But Jack = 23, and the finale is on the 23rd, and so on, so...

Well, one thing's for sure... you can't say nothing happened last night
Mighara: I think you may be right, but I see Hurley having as big a role, if not bigger, than Jack in what's coming.
As for Kate...
Oh, one more thing

I was hoping the bullet would have been a bit lower and to the right... damn, she survived

Or even Sawyer might win the day by redeeming himself and proving Jacob's nemesis wrong about the value of humanity...Akasri wrote:Mighara: I think you may be right, but I see Hurley having as big a role, if not bigger, than Jack in what's coming.
As for Kate... [insert THOOLAH-lke remark about Kate]

If they reconcile the timelines, then they might all ... Locke, Said, Sun, and Jin ... be restored. Because they are all alive in the other timeline.
......
Where is Jacob in the alternate timeline?
And, more importantly, where is the Man in Black?
Was he destroyed when the island was destroyed? Or was he freed?
Or does the alternate timeline not include him at all?

What terrible things has she done? I know I've seen this charge laid to her before, but aside from killing her dad, I don't remember the details of her questionable activities.Lord Foul wrote:I kinda forgot the reason I don't like Kate, cause A) she's done so many terrible things and B) I was too busy making sense of the rest of the show.
Wahoo! They show it here in Oz a day later than in US. Well, a great show! Sad to see some peeps die, but was as well done as can be, I suppose. Sayid was a hero of sorts after all, but not sure of his motovation to run with the bomb after his seemingly chilling conversation to not caring what happened from earlier in the season. Stupid Saywer messed things up, but fate must have played a role and beat Flocks plans nonetheless. I think I am finaly a semi-fan of the flash sideways now that I see a pattern beyond that of a bad Gilligan's Island ep, that I illuded to before. Can't hardly wait till next weeks ep; I really expect that to answer the meaning of the island without a doubt...at least it better.
Cowboy: Why you doin' this, Doc?
Doc Holliday: Because Wyatt Earp is my friend.
Cowboy: Friend? Hell, I got lots of friends.
Doc Holliday: ... I don't.

She flip-flops from Sawyer to Jack and back and doesn't seem to care. Till it just gets old and you wonder if she has any feelings at all. Yeah; Sawyer's an asshole too, but at least he's cool and edgy (and has the constant "son of a bitch!" and witty use of nicknames), but Kate is all of Sawyer's amorality minus his likability. If Kate's edgy (or tried to be edgy like Sawyer) it never worked for me; maybe in season 1, when you just find out she's an outlaw).Mighara Sovmadhi wrote:What terrible things has she done? But anyway;--I liked at first she kept running from everything, but at one point it's like crying wolf; I stopped caring what she does or who she loves.
But her boobs do look nice in those tight shirts. And Evangeline Lilly is a rocking actress.

And for the record: my two favorite characters of Lost are Ben Linus and John Locke (both pre- and post-Monster).
well...finally. a reason to like jack. yahoodey!
i been liking him better and better as the season's progressed and
i really loved that "i was hopin you'd go first." line.
yeah ol' kate coulda been ditched a loonnng time ago far as i was concerned. the actress is cute but as someone said upthread,
she's outlived her story arc.
i was hoping that s5 wasn't really the end of juliet.
oh yeah...and what about Lapitas? did the blast kill him ya think?
i mean i imagine it did (loved that last "aw hell" from him and far
as i'm concerned he's still had THE best line in the whole series -
'we're not goin to guam, are we."
) but i'se just kinda
hoping he'd miraculously make it out of the sub. *sniffle*
so yeah...next week.

Stranger things have happened, but yeah, I assume he's a goner. Was kind of bummed that nobody even asked about him on shore.
So... sub's toast. No idea what the hell they're thinking trying to fly a jet that big out off of sand, even if they have the room. Another ship coming in, or is it just going to be attrition until there's only 2 left?

"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Jack could fly the plane.Cagliostro wrote:Well, there was no certainty, as there was no definite body floating up, which in the world of Lost usually means he'll return. Besides - someone has to fly that plane.

You know, if they get off the island on the plane, that means that The Man in Black wins. So I'm thinking that they're not getting off the island by boat or by plane or by sub or by monkey wheel even. The timelines will be reconciled, and everyone who died since the split will be alive again. And the Man in Black will be put back into his lamp and thrown far out into the desert, and Aladin and Jasmin the loud parrot will live hapilly ever after.

I don't know why it might happen, but I sort of hope that we'll see some epic light vs. dark struggle between Jacob's nemesis and the island's own energy. Like a malevolent thunder storm matched by some sky-wide radiance.wayfriend wrote:You know, if they get off the island on the plane, that means that The Man in Black wins. Many options exist where MiB is left behind, especially with the "Flash-Sideways" showing us the new timeline "starts" with the island sunk (And Smokey doesn't like water - Though Flocke doesn't seem to mind it much???)
Of course, that was 3 years ago??? More Time Travelling???
