Just finished Naomi Novik's Tongues of Serpents.

And based on how much I've enjoyed the series so far, this one was a major disappointment. Looks like a proliferation of unnecessary sequels to me. . . :?

Finished Stephenson's The Confusion, tentatively starting on The System Of The World. A bit scared of another such a brick of a book ;)

Oh, I won't. Don't worry. It's just that I expect I'll not get too much reading time, and just a few pages before sleep isn't going to cut it. Especially if on page 245 you have to recognize the name of that guy we met on page 65 ;-)

Thus far, it's pretty good. I've always liked the short story structure for science fiction.

I'm more than half done with it. I've been so tired lately I haven't been able to read. But I'm off today, so I'll do a bit more. A Dissection might be difficuly, since each page is a new chapter. Heh

Chapters were originally very short. Based on letters/brief correspondence. Not my fault Tolkien didn't know when to shut up. :P

Gardens of the Moon, by Erikson.

Picked it up from the library today because I couldn't fail to notice that the series is generally highly regarded on here and my local library actually had the first book! Not to mention SRD's endorsement. :)

Almost 200 pages in and I'm very confused. :lol:
