Obviously I haven't expressed myself well. I envy your ability to continue to find insightful things to say about this series, and your perspective of observing it anew. I was not criticisizing, but rather being nostalgic and complimentary towards previous posters whom I've "known" a long time. I would love for some newcomers to knock my socks off with a new interpretation. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened for many years (search for Plotinus's posts ... like here). I think that the Chronicles are ambiguous enough that they can sustain discussion for a looong time... just not heavily sustained discussion
I'm also of the camp that there is no direct correlation between events in the Land and Covenant's life (i.e., I don't think the RoD happened when Covenant contracted leprosy and the like).

When I post links to previous threads where something is already discussed, it's because sometimes people like to catch up on previous discussions. There's nothing wrong with starting a new discussion, because participating matters too.

Heh...I'll go with all of that. I have to say this place has me a little jaded, I guess...I let a lot of "neat idea, dude" responses I could make go by, or I'd never stop typing here cuz I can be a little long-winded, and I go off track, and I have to admit I have my "favorites" [peeps I'll respond to, whether agree or disagree, just cuz it's them...even though I don't really know them]. But I read every damn thing that's about the Chron.'s and think a bit about them.

As an all too infrequent visitor to the Watch I think it's great to see each new wave of posters, bringing in their own views or wanting to challenge those who have gone before. There could never be enough words read to make me not want to come back.
As a fantasy reader commencing in the 50's I look back and wonder what marvelous unexplored avenues may have been discovered had there been something like the Watch then!!!

I probably still have the most posts in this forum. But I barely post here now. It's just that I've said most everything I had to say. Two or three or four times, even. The burning need that I'd had for 15-20 years to discuss TCTC was satisfied. But I pop in now and then.

Fist, I've been posting/reading again in the Runes dissection. I've been really impressed with some things you said originally (2004-2006). It's fun reading that stuff knowing what we know now.
I don't know if you guys have been reading the AATE forum, but I posted there that now is a good time to start our rereads. Good summer project for the release of AATE. And as it relates to this discussion, I think the new books are some of the most fertile ground for finding new insights, given that SRD is reinterpretting his own work. I invite everyone to join me. I'm only a couple chapters into Runes.
