Ali, I know that when we meet that you too will surpass the expectations created by your avatar. Just do not throw that spear at me!

Hi CamermanJenn,

I've just begun a re-read of Fatal Revenant and having not really opened this book since 2007, I was totally surprised to see your name in the acknowledgements. I know this is old news now but just wanted to say

WOW!

You must feel very honored to have your name in a Stephen Donaldson book. Well done!

did you ever feel like the world around you is completely surreal?

I was sitting in the lounge today in my town waiting to take the ferry into Wall street. The people entered the lounge, two guys and a gal. They were about 25, young wallstreeters. They purchased tickets to nyc and sat down next to me.

The gal said to the guys
"save your receipts, I'm expensing it"

Then one of the guys said to the gal
"you brought your laptop?"

the girl responded
"yeah. In case there is a disaster, at least I can get some work done"

they werent kidding around, dead on serious.
The loudest truth I ever heard was the softest sound.

I have to ask, what exactly does one define as "lesbian hair".
My grandmother actually insinuated the claim; apparently her hair is so short it means she may swing either way. I think she was just being overprotective of me. :P

I liked her lesbian hair, personally.
Was just asking because some of my closest friends are lesbians and if I were to be picking their sexuality based on their hair I'd get it wrong every time. :)

As for me: I'm over it. My closest friend is certifiably insane (like...she's been diagnosed...she has the piece of paper to prove it <sigh>). Anyway, the medication just isn't working. She thinks she's getting "better" and, perhaps, she is in small ways that she can notice. I don't know. I can't tell...not by her behavior. I think she's getting a lot worse...to the point being around her makes me quite fearful. And she's just...well...totally off this planet. It's sad.

...and in the small town I'm in good friends are hard to come by...and trying to distance yourself from anyone is near impossible unless you actually say "I don't want to see you anymore." ...which is impossible because our kids go to the same school together, and the town is so small I'd see her all the time.

I don't know what to do. <sigh>

Krazy Kat, yes I am more than honored. There are two other watchers on that list not mentioned by watch name. Cameraman Jenn is a name he identifies me with because of Fantasy Bedtime Hour. I was the least of the contributors, their work was by far more important.

I brought some honey and comb into work today. I also showed the pics of the baby drinking off my fingers to some of my co-workers and Tyler was looking at it and at this pic:

and she told me that I was crazy but in a good way and that my whole bee thing was hella tight. She said she had mad crazy respect for me. We found the old queen and we have a viable queen in the existing hive so we created a small nuc with the old queen and are madly trying to find someone who needs a queen. We have about a week window before she won't make it any more. I hope we find someone. When we pulled her out, Chris had her on his arm and during the course of madness I ended up with her on my arm just hanging out for a while. By rights we should have put her to rest but I couldn't do it. She has been so prolific and is still going strong. I picked her out of all those boxes of bees because she sang to me. I just couldn't do it. Too traumatic. I know. I am a nutter for loving an insect but I do. Everyone please hope that we find her a home in the next few days.

Too bad you guys can't see the whole shirt I am wearing... it's a replica of one of the shirts Jayne wears in Serenity. I am such an uber dork. Seriously. I think I need professional anti dorking therapy.

Because I'm in a great mood - have been the last four days - I'm going to let that one slide ;)

GREAT pics, Jenn. I love Bees.

Thanks Lore, glad you are so happy.

Sea, that sucks about your friend. I wish I had sage words of advice but I don't. Hopefully her doctor will realize the meds aren't helping and change her prescription. In the meantime all you can do is just not make any plans with her or schedule anything so that the only time you see her is accidentally running into her around town or at SOS's school. I seriously hope she gets more help for your sake and hers.

Thanks LF, now you have me worrying if I have lesbian hair since I cut it short... thank a lot.

Looks like we have a taker for the Queen and her followers. That is good news. And of course I am crying a little.

I was kind of a tweener between joining the Watch (and disappearing shortly after for a LONG LONG time) and the release of FR. So when I read the dedication (which I didn't get a chance to read FR until it had already been out for quite a while), I was totally blown away by how cool it was, without even knowing what FBH was. But NOW I know the glorious humor, good intentions, and imressive dedication of FBH and am even more super impressed. Basically, I also would like to give you congratulations, Jenn.

Dorkiness is f-ing awesome, and don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. You know what happened to me at work a few weeks ago? I was told the thumbs-up sign (you know, giving someone the old 'thumbs up') was dorky. I do it ALL THE TIME!! And besides thumbing up, I am a dork through and through anyway (did you see my TC homage video with Star Trek figurines?).

FTW and let dorkiness reign supreme.

Nah. It's that her hair is kind of boyish-looking on her, and she has a hipster-Goth look going, so she looks like she likes to mix it up or very well could if she wanted. And I ain't lookin' for a chick that loose.

Thanks SG. The best part about FBH is all the amazing people I got to meet and become friends with because of the show. I didn't join the watch until Jwaneeta was the guest expert on the show and she introduced me to Lucimay and they badgered me into joining the watch at the brunch party at Lord Mormon's place. Thank God Lucimay just wouldn't let it rest....

LF, I think you are just humoring me.... :(
