I will keep your with in my thoughts, sending healthy vibes her way. Also take care of yourself. You have lost a lot of weight very fast. Take vitamins to stave off infections.sgt.null wrote:pretty than julie (my wife)

Sending good vibes your way, Sarge! Can't wait to see pictures of the soiree, Seareach! The last few years in a row when my friends have asked me what I want to do for my birthday, I've simply replied, "Just a small dinner at home (when I lived with Julie and Heatherly) or a small gathering at an inexpensive restaurant. Every year they have gone overboard anyway so this year when they ask me I am saying I want a star wars party too. But since we are all going to be adult attendees maybe I'll request Dagobah daquiris instead of the yoda sodas...
Today was a good day. Ended up working the copy center all day but handled it just fine on my own. Had some fun with customers and employees and got a lot done. I am glad it was the last of my super long days since the final week of back to school stuff is now officially over and done with.

Massively relieved.
Beorn took his year-long Latin III class via Florida Virtual School over the summer, condensing it in to six weeks.
He took the final yesterday and today. The auto-graded objective half was all multiple choice, and he knows he got a 90% on that. With that, we also know he can score as low as a 50% on the justification essay he had to write for the first half of the exam where he defended his choice of translation of a Latin passage in order to get the "A" in the class.
So although school has begun and he is already swamped with homework, especially in his calculus class, that is one obligation he is now free of, except for reviewing his notes and translations in preparation for the Latin SAT II Subject Test, which he'll take in December.

Kudos to Beorn.
And Sarge, tell Julie to get well soon.
Originally I was supposed to drive Magickmaker back to college today. Yesterday, all day, she pestered me nonstop -- "Mom, let's pack up the car tonight, and then we can leave." "Mom, we could leave right now." "Mom, my friends say it's *very important* that you drive me back tonight!" (wink-wink-nudge-nudge) At about 8pm, she said, "If we left now, we could be there by midnight!"
So I looked at her and said, "What time would you want to get on the road tomorrow morning?" "Six! No, five!" (This after I'd been complaining about how many days of my vacation I was going to have to spend getting up early on her behalf.) So I finally said, "Fine, but call your sister and see if it's okay that we spend the night tonight." Of course Batty said okay.
So we drove down last night instead. The good part is that the summer heat returned full-force today, and since we were already in town, we got all of Magickmaker's stuff -- including the stuff she put in storage for the summer -- moved into the apartment before 1pm. (She's living in a university apartment this year with three of her friends. Should be a lot less chaotic than the dorm, which is good, considering she's taking 22 credits this semester in order to graduate on time in May... It *did* feel weird to refer to "Magickmaker's apartment" earlier today...)
We had really good Asian food for lunch and Olive Garden and homemade chocolate layer cake for dinner. Having a good visit with Batty and Shara_Lunison as well. Tomorrow I'll take Magickmaker over to the bookstore to get the last of her books, and then head home.
And on Tuesday, I'm sleeping in!

Don't forget on top of this he still needs to decide what he may want to pursue at university and which schools to start sending applications to! Some schools' regular deadline, not early decision, closes as early as mid-October.

OH! MY! GAWD! SEA That is so totally awesome! NOT crafty? HAH! That makes me wish I was wealthy because I would SO be PAYING you AND flying you to the states to mastermind my b'day party. SERIOUSLY! The thought of the kids destroying that with sticks makes me want to come steal it from you right now! Yeesh, I so wish I could be at that party. I've been a star wars fan since I first saw it in the theater with my dad when I was eight years old. It's the first theater movie I remember and it remains incredibly special in my mind to this day. I'm so jealous of SOS right now it's not funny.

It's sort of my friday. I have tomorrow and Wednesday off. I had some fun moments at work and some very frustrating ones and as a result I am feeling feisty. Deal with it.
