So I thought a thread where people's roles can be explained to new members, and where new members can also ask any questions they like about our board in particular or about discussion boards in general and not feel
about not already knowing might be good.I'm rather sleepy tonight, so if I get something wrong or forget something, I hope more awake people will jump in and set things straight.
MODS
Mods keep their eyes on specific forums. Within his or her assigned forum he or she can do things like move a thread to another forum, can delete posts, can delete an entire thread, can edit a post, and can do esoteric things like split threads. At this time, mods also have the ability to give out small amounts of white gold dollars if they wish to have a contest or the like in their forum to generate interest in their forum. A mod tries to help things run smoothly inside his or her assigned forum, tries to keep peace between members, answer questions, and since this is a family friendly place, keep an eye out for naughty language and stuff like that. If anyone has a question about a specific forum, or a problem in a specific forum, the mod or mods of that forum are there to help you out.
ADMINS
The big guns. They have all the powers of mods but for every forum, not just specific ones. They have a lot of other powers, too. They are the only ones who can create forums. They are the only ones who can ban people. If you are having problems with things like your account, they are the ones who can straighten things out for you. Our two admins here are Kevinswatch (High Lord Jay), who was the founder of this board, and Vain, who knows more about computers and the internet than most of us could ever dream of knowing[and Alynna. Three! Our three admins are Jay, Vain, Alynna and Aprility Fools. Four! Four admins! Oh...forget it.-jay] [And me now. -A] They are all very approachable and very

And if anyone has any questions about discussion boards, please feel free to ask. Besides Jay and Vain, we have many people here who are admins at other boards, so hopefully between all of our experienced people, someone can answer pretty much any question. AND REMEMBER -- Everyone was new once.
