Amen, that was a shame.
That's for sure. Still worth a reread, the voidhawks rock.

I did find that Hamilton redeemed himself with a read-worthy duet Pandora's Star/Judas Unchained. The Void Trilogy is in the same universe, so far it is also a real good read. They all have everything you liked about Hamilton, but with no downside at the end.

I believe Hamilton admitted himself that Night's Dawn got a bit out of control, because he became too attached to the characters he'd intended to kill off in book one and wound up changing the story to make them into major parts of books two and three.

My thoughts exactly. And he has another three books out in the Commonwealth Series, I'll probably get those soon. No doubt as fat as his other works. ;)

I'll definitely keep an eye out for them in that case, thanks.

Hang with Athyra ali it's more of a transition book, it' very interesting

but maybe a little too cute in parts
worth getting through because Orca and Dragon are quite good.

Agreed on your spoiler. I wasn't wild about the change in POV, to be honest, but I think Savn has promise as a character, and I hope we see the minstrel again. :)

I'm about halfway through Orca now. This time, the POV change works better -- it's fun to see how Kiera views the little Easterner. ;)

Where does Dzur fall in the story chronology? It's clear that it was written after the author's note in the front of the omnibus volumes.

In any case, I'm hoping to take a break after this book for AATE.

Just finished Ian Cameron Esslemont's Stonewielder and it was great!:D

ICE has matured and improved as a writer, making this one a thoroughly satisfying Malazan offering. One of the better paced as well.

Druz is after Issola (which is after Dragon), Druz and Jhegala are really cool, and while it's necessary to read Issola I found it a

If you want to read a very, very cool Burst book set in the same world that has nothing to do with Vlad try Brokedown Palace.

Just finished R. Scott Bakker's second thriller, Disciple of the Dog.

A good and entertaining read, but rushed in order to make it a page-turner. It features an unfeeling prick as the main protagonist, yet I found it impossible not to root for Disciple Manning.

Check out the blog for the full review. :)

Oh my goodness, it certainly is!!!!! My favorite of all her books. Perhaps Tales is as good, but this is one story. Answered questions I'd had for years; expressed taoism as well as ever; and Azver rocks!!! :D :D :D

Decided to give the Mission Earth series a quick reread, before I start rereading the Chrons in preparation for AATE.
