I did find that Hamilton redeemed himself with a read-worthy duet Pandora's Star/Judas Unchained. The Void Trilogy is in the same universe, so far it is also a real good read. They all have everything you liked about Hamilton, but with no downside at the end.Avatar wrote:That's for sure. Still worth a reread, the voidhawks rock.Spiral Jacobs wrote:Amen, that was a shame.Avatar wrote:The Reality Dysfunction, book 1 of the Night's Dawn trilogy, a great series spoiled by a weak ending.

I'm about halfway through Orca now. This time, the POV change works better -- it's fun to see how Kiera views the little Easterner.![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/wink.gif)
Where does Dzur fall in the story chronology? It's clear that it was written after the author's note in the front of the omnibus volumes.
In any case, I'm hoping to take a break after this book for AATE.![Twisted Evil ](./images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)

Agreed on your spoiler. I wasn't wild about the change in POV, to be honest, but I think Savn has promise as a character, and I hope we see the minstrel again.danlo wrote:Hang with Athyra ali it's more of a transition book, it' very interestingworth getting through because Orca and Dragon are quite good.Spoiler
but maybe a little too cute in parts

Just finished Ian Cameron Esslemont's Stonewielder and it was great!:D
ICE has matured and improved as a writer, making this one a thoroughly satisfying Malazan offering. One of the better paced as well.

Druz is after Issola (which is after Dragon), Druz and Jhegala are really cool, and while it's necessary to read Issola I found it a .

Just finished R. Scott Bakker's second thriller, Disciple of the Dog.
A good and entertaining read, but rushed in order to make it a page-turner. It features an unfeeling prick as the main protagonist, yet I found it impossible not to root for Disciple Manning.

Oh my goodness, it certainly is!!!!! My favorite of all her books. Perhaps Tales is as good, but this is one story. Answered questions I'd had for years; expressed taoism as well as ever; and Azver rocks!!!Stonemaybe wrote:The Other Wind by Ursula Le Guin.
