sorry, I mean it's sold cooked.
It usually is here, too. Basically you just warm it up.

Altho you can get cured hams here that I believe are not cooked. The curing process keeps 'em from spoiling 'til you cook it. I think we had a discussion about Smithfield ham in here, once upon a time...
WARM IT UP??????????????????????????
Stone, we have both deli-sliced ham that is used cold for sandwiches or appetizers, and haunches of smoked or cured ham which is usually baked to an internal temperature of about 165 F (I think) and served as a main course.

Leftover baked ham is put in to things like macaroni and cheese. It can even be added as a topping for pizza...

Indeed. Just this morning I cooked myself a breakfast burrito with ham, cheese, and hash browns. Delish.

Don't get me wrong - I have eaten, and even cooked myself various things - with ham.

But in my foodie world, it is eaten cold 99.5% of the time.

Baked ham is quite delicious. At christmas we usually have our ham cold and sliced off the bone but I remember one christmas we decided to a glazed baked ham with ginger something or other and it was quite nummy.

Deep Fried Bacon Bombs

Introduced at this year's Arkansas State Fair.
This about a brick's worth of cream cheese packed with an ample serving of bacon in a cornmeal batter, deep fried on a stick. The cream cheese somehow intensifies the bacon flavor. $4, or $3 if you don't want the bacon.

Sorry -- I can't tell you how disgusting that looks.

WHY do I keep looking in this thread? It's like passing a wreck on the highway -- *so* gross, but you can't pass by without looking!

Oh, don't anyone get me wrong... I'm going to try this one of these days...
And on that day I will probably have a heart attack. :P

Some hotel rooms do...two I have recently received as upgrades did. One was just a kitchenette, but the other was close to being a full kitchen.

Just back from the AZ state fair. They had bacon dipped in chocolate- didn't try it.

But I'll tell you what I did try:

Python on a stick
Lion meat- yes, real African lion
Kangaroo sausage- served like a brat with all the fixin's
Yak burger
Alligator on a stick
Deep fried snicker's bar- battered in funnel cake mix and coated with powdered sugar
Pork chop on a stick- literally fell apart
Fresh cut french fries covered in gravy- expected white but got brown
Three ears of roasted corn from two different vendors- this one Mexican guy cooked them perfectly but his "butter" sucked; I still had a second on my way out!
Jose Cuervo gold and clear tequila- one free shot of each!
Which led to three "Margaritas guaranteed to knock your socks off!"
- I don't know about that, but they rang my bell.

I feel really good right now; capital. Bloated, buzzed, and satiated.

Better you than me, for most of those, Harbinger....

On Thursday, the first day of the partners' retreat, I worked the luggage check-in desk at our office for partners arriving from out of town. They had breakfast set up for us volunteers in a conference room: eggs, bacon and sausage, fresh fruit, etc. Partway through the morning, I went in to fetch myself a bottle of Diet Coke, and when I opened the door, the smell of the bacon nearly knocked me over. So of course I had to have a piece.

Then yesterday, I volunteered as a "floater" at the retreat, which was held offsite. Again, they had breakfast set up -- in the amphitheater foyer for the partners, and in a breakout room for the volunteers. The smell of bacon absolutely permeated the place. I *had* to go into the breakout room and get a piece.

My point: you bacon fanatics are doing this deliberately, aren't you?
