Julie works for Wallyworld.com and although it's the evil corporation, they take care of her and pay her quite well. In this economy I wish I was working for wallyworld.

I feel.... irrelevant. Tired of existing behind the scenes, but more, tired of being taken for granted. Also sure that it's my fault, and in some way I probably deserve it. But it's early, and I'm probably not making much sense.

My face hurts.

This is what happens when you tell a woman she resembles a pig when she's eating her food in an ungraceful way. I do not advise such actions.

I merely implement them.

You have echoed my sentiments of late.

Happy, taking care of business (yes my Earthsea dissection-kicking of The Farthest Shore, BTW-will be up on the Hangar tomorrow, finally), dismayed that a Palin-clone is now Governor of my state.

Hey, here's and example of wasted tax dollars: I worked the election yesterday (note the word worked) but the precinct I was assigned was Air Force base housing that was bulldozed to the ground 3 years ago so 5 of us all sat on on asses from 6AM to 7PM and did nothing. Apparently "redistricting" only takes place in NM every 10 years-so lets do the math: yesterday they shelled out approx. $1000 for this precinct times 6 elections (primary, presidential, city, school board, primary, state) so now we're at over $6000 wasted with 2 years to go...happy days! :P

I thought I'd escaped the bane of leftover Halloween candy. Then this morning, my boss dropped all of his family's leftovers on my ledge. I dutifully put them in the bowl, but I had to sample 'em, didn't I?

So then I *had* to go to spin class. I hate that.

I'm not sure what angers me more; the fact you wrote this, or that I clicked on "goodpost".

Are you referring to that delectable, saliva-inducing cup of peanut butter surrounded by milk chocolate that is wrapped up in irresistible, hypnotic, bright orange paper?

No, I can't say I "like" them.

We have one at the Hangar, but transfer, apparently, requires that Avatar (also an admin there, and our "tech" guy) compile a zip file and then receive the proper coordinates and permissions from Vain who is becoming increasingly harder to find... :P :P :P

So... next week I get to do the whole song and dance all over again for another new boss who has only seen the 'after' picture of my work, and try to prove yet again that my existence isn't a waste of payroll. And worry more about drastic schedule changes turning my life upside down, but that's been a pretty constant concern for the past three months. Waiting can be the worst part, and sometimes it's better if that sword just falls.

And I've been turned down for something that would mean the world to me right now, even though it's completely insignificant in the grand scheme of things... I'm really hurt, and at the same time, I don't want to make a big deal out of it. I know it wouldn't bother me as much if it wasn't for all the work-related chaos, and I'd really like to just tell myself that it doesn't matter... but it does matter, and I don't know what to do about it.

And that's the way my whole life is going right now. Feeling tolerated instead of accepted... And I probably do deserve that. I'm probably not easy to be around right now. Hell, I wouldn't live in my head right now if I had any choice in the matter.

Well, if you need some fun in your life Sorus, come over Friday night to the apartment and hang out with us and Xar. Tell Lucimay to drag her butt over too. Anyone who wants to come is welcome so if any of you just outside the city people are up for it let me know.

So I worked with both of the two new assistant managers today. Shawnanthony and I were having a meet and greet and I guess he heard about the stuff I was doing in receiving and said to me, "When I start at a new store I like to start in receiving and there are some areas that still need to be worked on." and I said, "Don't worry about receiving, I am fine tuning as I go and believe me there is a plan for everything and I have it all under control." I cleared out the operations area and organized it today and finally got the printers under control. When I was done I came out and got him and brought him back there to show him. He was impressed. I explained to him that I had spent a lot of time and effort already because the place was an atrocity and therefore I have a bit of a territorial attitude and I apologized for being so brusk with him earlier. He said he understood. He also said that Manny had told him that I was making some drastic and much needed changes. Manny was also in yet again today and we talked a bit and he made a point of coming up to me on his way out, (I was on a register) and telling me again what an amazing job I had done with receiving.

I just noticed that I'm near 10,000 posts, and this thread is 122 away from the end. (It'll take months for me to hit 10k, and much less for this thread to hit the limit.)

No idea why that was on my mind when I visited today to make me pay attention.
