I feel for ya, CovJr. My last relationship break up started as a "break," moved to a friends with benefits thing, then I didn't hear from her for two weeks, at which time she told me she was seeing someone else. Throughout all of which she assured me she still loved me and let me hold out hope we would get back how it used to be. My best friend, meanwhile, was telling me and telling me that I was being strung along.

I look back and see how obvious it should have been, what was happening. And yet, I don't know that, being in the same situation, I would or could do things differently.

If you've been dumped several times, my advice is make this one the last. The end is inevitable anyway, and postponement just draws out the pain and uncertainty. Especially if the make-up sex is non-existent ;)

This will be the fourth thread to hit 9999. The first was the original How Do You Feel Today. It wouldn't be right to let this one overtake it. ;)

I made crackalicious mac and cheese from scratch tonight. I feel very full now.

Still too much snow here for me to leave the house when I don't have to go to work. They're saying it could be weather this bad all the way into the new year...

I feel excited that I'm on the last page :P

My perspective from the other side of the world - it was hot and muggy today. Cooled off this evening.

Snow is a distant dream... (not that we ever really get it. We had some in 2005 and it settled on the ground when i was at school in 1986 I think it was...)

Home for winter break. Christmas comes, the first one without Mom...

I, we, are trying to go forward, it's so hard tho. Mom and Christmas are synomonous, her light overwhelmed everything. Not to mention that it was this time last year that she became so very ill and we weren't sure she would even be with us. Miraculously, she was.

Not sure what I'm trying to say here. I'm happy to be home again, with my family. And together, I believe we can make it through this holiday season. Keeping her in our hearts. After all, we are her family...
For Myles--
When evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

For Mom--
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.

Fly...fly high against the sky...
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you
The wind beneath my wings

My Golden Retriever, Buddy, passed away today. He was probably 14 years old or almost--pretty old for his breed and had him since 7th grade. That's longer than I know my best friend! Not sure what it was, but on Saturday night he didn't eat much and began coughing up white foam; his belly also started bloating pretty quickly. Unfortunately he didn't make it until Monday, when a vet would've been open.

Sigh. Ah well. Hopefully he's chasing rabbits in dog heaven.

His final tally: 3 cats killed, 1 almost. Probably a record for my subdivision!

Buried him with my grandfather's old German Shepherds. Was pretty numb for most of the day, though I'm starting to come around.

Here he is with the remnants of a hambone:

He was very kind. Retrievers usually are the most patient and family-oriented dogs. He liked just about anybody--except the pest control guy. :P

So sorry, LF. Losing a pet sucks. |G

This is the first time I've been online since Friday night. Just haven't had time. Spent yesterday cleaning the bloody house and today running errands, including getting the tree and putting it up. I think I need another day off to recover from the weekend...

IT IS DONE, quoteth Foul. A new thread will be made. We can rebuild it. We have the technology. Better than it was before. Better, stronger, faster.

The Third Child will not be started by me, but since I am the genesis of this insane, Twitter-like creation (even before Twitter, interestingly; I should probably sue?!), I will choose the next thread starter. He will be sent a private message. Or she? Dun dun dun!
