Warm and humid weather...

I just came home from semi-finals of squash. Played a bloody hard game and lost in a very close contest. The games are played first to 11, and if it gets to 10-10, whoever wins by 2 is the winner of the game. Best of 5. I lost 12-14, 9-11, 11-9, 11-9, 9-11.

My team carried me through to the final, so all good. 8)

Is quite content with life.

Also pleased to know that Version 2.0 of this thread was locked at 9999, since I forgot to check after around 9500. Haha. Nicely done.

I'm super crap lately. Job search is not going well. We won't have money to buy my son any gifts this year. Usually I am SUPER EXCITED about Xmas, but this year I am a total Scrooge. We finally put the tree up for my son (who has been begging us since July), so at least he's in the Xmas spirit.

Meh. I am lame.

Please pray for my grandma. She has blood cancer. No cure because she's not young enough for a bone marrow transplant. She's probably got about 2 years at most, and she's in a lot of pain.

That totally sucks. Watching someone succumb to cancer is not an easy thing and we are totally here for you if and when you need us. I'm sending you a hug and positive vibes of support and lighting a healing candle for your Gran.

I'm tired and frustrated. I was the only closing manager tonight and she didn't schedule anyone for the copy center so I ended up trapped in there way too much and didn't get my crap done. I know I am going to hear it something fierce tomorrow. Everyone pray for me that she leaves before I get to work so I avoid an ass chewing.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Hugs for Owlie's gramma and for Jenn, and anybody else who fancies a hug: |G

Good birthday yesterday. Took the day off today to run errands, etc. Finally took the netbook to the Geek Squad today. They advised me that since it's still under warranty, I'm better off dealing directly with the manufacturer. Which I was trying to avoid doing because of the hassle. Bah....

Sorry to hear about your grandmother, Auliel.

I'm still a bit numb from my dog, doing better, but thinking of him and how good and sweet he was is too much sometimes. Any animal you keep for over 10 years or more really becomes more than a pet. I wish I had been there the moment he went... Ah well.

Went on a date today, though, with a woman I met through a dating site. She turned out to be very pretty, like-minded and enjoyable to be around (and even enjoyed my presence, of all things!). I do hope it escalates. ;)

By the way, aliantha--I had given danlo the honor of making the third thread, but apparently he was too slow. ;)

Today was an interesting mix. Spent much of the day hungover and doing hungover stuff- grumbling, smoking, cooking a fry-up, sharing anecdotes of last night. The latter half of the day got rather cerebral. I was stopped on the street by a yogic monk who claimed I had a "peaceful aura," and gave me a free book. I'm not usually a fan of proselytising, but today I found myself torn between people's right to seek religion out for themselves, should they want to, and the evident sincerity of this man attempting to make people's lives better the best way he knew how. Anyway, as a student of religion, I was glad of a free religious text. Then I had a deep and meaningful with a Catholic workmate on the bus home, on spiritual matters.

Thoughts and compassion to those Watchers going through difficult times. Congratulations to those enjoying personal triumphs.

As I told Fist, think of the nice, steady WGD income I'm gonna earn from this thread, just sitting on my butt and letting people post for 500 pages. Might as well quit my job!
