does anyone have an installation file for adobe photoshop 5.

Post by Lord Zombiac »

This started a long time ago and now I'm getting pissed.
I had CSwhatever and 5.0 installed on my computer.
Either photoshop does not like you running two versions of their software, or some virus screwed everything up.
I uninstalled both programs.
I tried free stuff like photobie and gimp, but their GUIs suck ASS!!!!!!
Example:
I'm in photoshop. I want to do this simple operation-- resize an image. I click on the "image" tab, scroll down to "image size" and go from there... simple.
I'm in photobie. Nothing. There ain't a damned thing anywhere that will allow you to resize your image, and that should be a simple operation.
So, I'm trying to re-install my old 5.0, which works just fine for me, right?
The "setup.exe" file will not launch!
I contact adobe and they give me a song and dance about they don't have any 5.0 shit anymore.
If someone has photoshop 5.0 and can send it to me, I can simply use that file, enter my serial number and get back the software I am familiar with.
I spent three hours already just trying to resize a god damned image.
This is bullshit!
I needs help, ladies and gentlemen!

... I think " The Onion" must have Photoshoppe 5..they did a great job of putting a brassiere on House Speaker Boneher.

I'm a cheapass and I use Paint.net. I mainly do shitty WoW model edits and things like that, but it has decent enough utilities, and it's free.

What exactly is the problem? Is the setup.exe corrupted?

So nothing happens when you double-click it?

(Is it a downloaded file, or on a disc?)

It's a disc, and it is an original disc that I have used to install photoshop 5 on the same computer with the same OS.
It makes me wonder if photoshop puts something in your computer when you uninstall to prevent you from installing a previous version.

I've had problems installing the same version (CS3) on a machine on which I'd previously uninstalled it from. Dunno about previous versions. But it gave me an error, which I Googled, and found a fix for it. Which is why I was asking if there was an error message.

It was a software conflict. Somebody using my computer had installed something called "smart draw" and I couldn't uninstall it. Right away I thought "malicious software," deleted the folder, and used ccleaner to correct registry errors.
It worked.
Now I have photoshop again.
