Yeah, poor Liand. I liked him myself...kind of innocent and naive, which exuses his apparent worship of LA. I was under the impression, too, that he was destined for greater things at the end of the story...like being integral to the healing of Kevin's dirt, or something. That being said, how IS the Land going to heal with neither Liand or Anele being around?
I'm virtually certain we haven't seen the last of Liand. Anele, though, I'm pretty sure is done for the story.

I agree. Liand has got to come back somehow.

Also wondering whether Linden denying Pahni something she did for herself, resurrecting her love, will turn into something in TLD.

Last, with Liand and Anele dead, there is still Jeremiah, to whom Anele bequeathed Earthpower somehow with the orcrest.

Yes, I think that Jeremiah has somehow inherited both Liand's and Anele's purposes or importances to the Land's salvation through Anele's expenditure of Earthpower through the orcrest

And man, what an extreme and sudden way for Liand to meet his end. I don't think any of us saw it coming...

As for liand and pahni.. Yeah they were totally 'doing it' - i heard it from this guy who knows this guy who saw them doing it in the bushes.

But.. The world is going to end in a matter of days. Should Pahni be pregnant, i expect her gestation period would be somewhat longer than than.. Unless..

Amnion.

Is it too soon to start calling Liand "Pumpkinhead?"

(....probably....)
