Delete User/Ban/Whatever

Once a drunken friend of mine tried to leave our flat, when we thought it a good idea she slept the booze off on our couch. We caught her in the corridor and dragged her back into the apartment. She ran around the living room screaming "FRITZL GOT ME! FRITZL GOT ME!"

Really. It's in everyone's best interests if I'm not permitted to post anymore. A simple ban is all I ask.

Why don't you just stop posting then? Ban yourself if you feel so strongly about it. Nobody wants you to leave, but nobody wants you here against your will, either. If you need to move on, then let's just say goodbye and go live your life.

Well, I'm perhaps lucky I'm likely on the other side of the world from you.

My poor attempts at humourous anecdote are falling flat, I see. No offense was intended.

It's up to you if you go or stay, but seems it's unanimous that everyone wants you to stay.

or not be hyper-defensive when people question/misinterpret, then dismissive when they support/apologize.

Because I can't "just ban myself" from things. Weak-willed like that. Has to be an outside source.

Thought about scrambling my password, but I'd have the record of that on my comp. I log my own keystrokes, comes in handy.

A simple user-deletion or ban is all I ask.

As they've said, there's no need to be banned or deleted. If you didn't want to be here, you'd have said Goodbye and left. Or just left. You wouldn't have responded to any of these posts. You wouldn't have even read them.

But you don't want to be banned or deleted. What you want is lots and lots of attention. And here I am, adding to it. No, not the kind of attention you are hoping for. Nothing like "Oh, TF, please don't go!" "We're sorry!" "It wouldn't be the same here without one of our long-standing members!" Still, I hope it helps your ego in one way or another.

One: Saying you can't just stop yourself, but also that you could get admin access and ban your own account. Dramatic, but contradictory and transparent.

Two: Saying you could get admin access and ban your own account if you were provoked (but of course you're conveniently not). Such a cliche.
