Perhaps we can get SRD to do something bigger for The Last Dark? Perhaps dedicate the book to us?

No, I've said the same thing before.Zarathustra wrote:On a related note ... is it just my impression, or did the novel discussion die down a lot faster for AATE than FR?
I don't remember a lot of FR discussion, but you may be right. The reason being, a lot of stuff was answered in AATE, there isn't nearly as much stuff to speculate about. Seriously, after reading FR, I was depressed that it would be three more years until AATE, but after reading AATE, I was fulfilled, satisfied.Zarathustra wrote:On a related note ... is it just my impression, or did the novel discussion die down a lot faster for AATE than FR?

Guilty as charged. On the other hand this one I actually got when it was published. FR was stronger but AATE was still loads better than ROTE (which I almost didn't buy because, seriously how can there be anther Thomas Covenant book? Must be something else that just looks like a chronicle, maybe another one of those 'same world (haa haa) new author)Zarathustra wrote:On a related note ... is it just my impression, or did the novel discussion die down a lot faster for AATE than FR?
Yeah, I've noticed a few who never posted. And there seemed to be a much more divided fanbase this time, so perhaps the tone of the discussions turned off some people. It's ironic, because this book was better than Runes. It seemed that a lot more people were expressing their disappointment over Runes without a corresponding backlash from those who really loved it. In fact, I don't remember anyone really loving it, the way some seem to love this one. On the other hand, even though Runes was worse, I don't remember hating the bad parts nearly as much as this one (mainly because they were shorter). So the experience for this book is a lot more polarizing. Maybe that's the explanation right there. But an argument could be made that a polarizing book is precisely the one you'd expect to produce the most discussion. I don't know. I'm confused. I wonder what Wayfriend thought of it.High Lord Tolkien wrote:The oddest thing is that there where quite a few newbies that were posting about AATE but many of the regular posters just disappeared.
I mean, they just never posted.
