Good news on the cottage, lorin! :)

Happy Monday, everybody. Happy groggy, sleep-deprived Monday to our US Watchers (since Daylight Savings time kicked in here over the weekend and *some* of us were too stupid to go to bed earlier last night...).

Today is going to be a little surreal. Got an e-mail this morning from my cousin that my aunt -- my mother's last surving sibling -- died in her sleep overnight. Later today, I get to judge a bake sale at work. It's weird, the ways in which life goes on...

I had to get up at 5:30 yesterday morning, which was 4:30, really. I went to bed early enough(ish), but didn't sleep well. It doesn't matter what the clock says, my body knows the truth.

Mine too. And with every passing year, it feels more and more free to inform me.

And just to clarify, by "*some* of us" I meant me.

South Korea doesn't do Daylight Savings Time, and I'm feeling it's effects anyway--mostly because I have to change the way my mind automatically does the calculations between South Korea time and "home" time.

I am so tired. Good night.

just got out of the hospital.

saturday could not get out of bed - back locked. took some 30-40 minutes got to the living room. but could go no further.

julie had to call an ambulance. my first ever. when i got to the hospital i was the third ambulance to get there.

there were also two inmates there. one from ramsey 1 (my old unit) and ramsey 3. i knew the bosses from ramsey i - one used to work for me.

the gave me a muscle relaxer, anti inflamatory and morphine. tried to send me home - but i could still not move.

they called my doc and he checked me in. since i had not been able to urinate all day long they put me on an iv.

so i was there in a private on morphine shots every four hours. i see why it is a non-legalized drug. :) i was also getting injectible steroids.

i can manage to kind of get around and i go to back doctor on wednesday to get the doc. i have a narcotic for pain, a steroid pack and a muscle relaxer.

this is a lucid moment so i am watching the Sox vs yanks on tv and connecting with you. :)

OK Fr. Hector told me to let them know I need more time to contact Catholic Charities.

SQ, surely Catholic Charities is offering you more than a delaying action?

You told us little more than you'd been served with a restraining order and that you wanted a recommendation for a lawyer...

What grounds did the ex have for that order? Can we fight it?

Trust us, we are your friends. What is your ex's leverage on you and how can it be countered?

I was really happy when you were enthused about his coming to E-fest. Seemed like you two were doing OK with each other. On the other hand, if he wants a war, we can bring that...but need to know what we are dealing with.

There are 17, SEVENTEEN bottles of wine in this 300sq ft apartment, two of them magnums. And I can't open a damn one because they're either nice bottles that the bf and I picked up on our road trip OR they're from our wine club and I would feel bad opening one alone. ON THE OTHER HAND, we do have several from that winery and we're only going to get more. Should I open one anyway? Someone tell me yes. I mean, I could always just NOT drink, but I got a 100% on my math test and damn it, I deserve to get slopp- I mean, I deserve a glass of wine.

ANYWAY.

Sorry about the back, Sarge, but congratulations on the morphine!

thank you everyone. your well wishes and prayers are need and welcomed.

lurch - i have had morphine for kidney stones and never really felt the effect then.

now that i could - i can understand how dangerous opiates can be. it was a good feeling when that stuff hit the vein.

i can see how people can get addicted to it.

Well, I've been to the surgeon for the lump, and just need to have it taken out and analyzed. Unfortunately, there is someone else where I work that is working on getting a surgery scheduled that is much more critical, so I need to wait for her to be finished so I can schedule mine, dammit.

I had some blood work done yesterday. Just waiting nervously for the results. Fingers crossed.

I apparently did not have a trial today.
