I wasn't talking about the documentation of reincarnation, I meant do people who believe in it work for the betterment of all to improve the lot of the next life they might experience? I don't think so.

Because a worse life is supposed to be a just dessert, therefore attempting to improve that from this life might be tampering with the workings of Karma. If you live well, (according to the belief), you get a better life. If not, a worse one, until you learn your lesson.

For my part, uni started again. Also, yeah, Rus is gone, so there's no-one to vehemently disagree with

Might bring some stuff from uni in here, though...patience. :)

Aww, should I try to "stand in" for him? =)

Whoa. I think the next Close thread should be dedicated to figuring out what the hell I was talking about.

Are you Orthodox, too? We'd practically have an e-congregation going here! :D

We could tee up a bunch of threads for when Rus gets back (assuming he decides he actually really likes us enough to come back despite the punishment)...

LOL, that would be amusing! I meant "disagree" as in "I'm not Orthodox," not "have disagreements about details concerning the Orthodox church." Though you saying "e-congregation" does remind me... yeah, I guess the "requirements" really only start with 2 or 3!

Ahh, the punishment... This is why I am less bold/blunt - I mean more subtle - than he is.

No, no. She agrees, but her preconceptions won't allow her to realise or admit it.

Hey, some days it's hard to find someone else who believes in objective reality, around here!!! ;)

Seriously, though, while Christians often DO have huge divides over single issues* ...ecclesiology is just one piece of theology/philosophy...

*For the amusement of the masses:
Spoiler
I just searched up "ecclesiology" on Google to make sure I had the right word... and Google suggested "ecclesiology and exclusion"
