Perhaps a cosmology would be a more appropriate term. Theory of the universe rather than theory of life.

Hi Jem.
I didn't mean that people build philosophy exclusively on a particular scientific hypothesis, or even thesis. I said "things like", meaning that as an idea, it is included in the formation of the philosophy. If man was NOT created, but merely formed by chance from primordial soup, then theism and theology can be dismissed.

I don't know about the Big Bang, but I don't really believe in a Creator God, that is, a God separate and external from His Creation. I don't dismiss theism and theology, but am interested in them more as societal influences than Big Questions of the Universe. My own philosophy simply does't incorporate them. Doesn't mean they aren't fascinating though :D .
