Found out just now that my entry into a Johnsonville grilling season contest was selected for Week 1 competition. I do think there are other entries much better written, but I'll request votes here anyway.

Vote for me, please!

Thanks!

i have been missing volunteering at the zoo so much. :(

i have had occassion at work to talk about the animals - because of the turtles in the river behind my kitchen.

but we just don't have the time.

i really miss my fish though. when we visited the zoo recently i got to see the new type of jellyfish and the newest octopus. the sharks are gone but the sea turtle with the damaged flipper is still there. the seahorses are real low in population now.

i miss my fish. :(

I miss my fish too. I haven't had a fishtank in a few years. I think it's the longest I've gone for as long as I can remember.

I'm tired. Again. Had a long day at work and there were repair guys working on the climate control system at work. They ran late so I had to stay late. Vivian stayed with me and we just hung out and talked while the guys were finishing up for the day. She was in a super silly mood all day. Earlier in the day I had to lean near her for something and my arm was up and she poked me in the boob and said, "Boob." She immediately apologized and I laughed and said I didn't care. She had a moment of silly sister egging that I can totally relate to and poked me before she thought it out. Then later she smacked me on the ass with a heavy cardboard roll. Again she was immediately apologetic and I told her that she reminded me of my best friend Julie. Julie has a thing for smacking my ass which she has done since college almost twenty years ago. At a past watch gathering, Lucimay had borrowed an FBH sweatshirt and our hair was about the same color and length and style and our builds very similar and Julie mistakenly smacked Lucimay on the ass thinking Lucimay was me. Very funny. Vivian reminds me a lot of Julie. They have similar personalities and sense of humor and are both incredibly smart, confidant and uninhibited with a dark edge but they also both have an incredible independent streak tempered by an endearing vulnerability. It's an awesome combination.

On other notes, I think I might have a crush on one of the assistant managers, Seth. I think it may just be a scorpio, can't figure him out or predict him so he's a mystery crush. He challenges me constantly... damn taurus. One minute he's playful, the next he's unreadable and sometimes I totally misread him. He keeps me off balance enough to question if my crush is genuine or just the challenge... GAH. My scorpio is RILED UP.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Very Covenantish.

Just saw That Championship Season with Brian Cox, Jim Gaffigan, Chris Noth, Jason Patric, and Kiefer Sutherland. Very good acting by the whole cast. The play is dated but the themes are timeless. Fun to watch in retrospect, taking place in 1972 but I doubt if it was written today it would ever be produced.

I am trying to get to the theatre more often to stir my juices but boy oh boy, the cost!!!!

Patric was the best character by far. He portrayed the alcoholic with such sensitivity. (and he is so hot)

You wouldn't have to pay big bucks, just come to visit. I will hook you up 8) I actually got a big discount on the tickets, only 35 each, down from 125.

Next week I am seeing JOHN LEGUIZAMO'S GHETTO KLOWN and BENGAL TIGER AT THE BAGHDAD ZOO with Robin Williams. I decided I need to expose myself to some new theatre. My stupid degree is in playwriting 8O so? so? so?.....sigh

With a new college grad in the house, the topic of "people making a career of jobs which have nothing to do with their degrees" has some added resonance for me.

Finally got all of Magickmaker's stuff moved in this morning. Because we left for vacation pretty much right after the ceremony, her dad offered to bring the majority of her stuff to his house in their new urban assault vehicle. ;) We left the remainder of her stuff at Batty's new apartment (as they were with us, there was no one there to trip over it but their cats ). So when we dropped off Batty yesterday, we picked up that load of stuff and brought it up last night. Today, Magickmaker's dad brought over the rest of her stuff, all packed into her new-to-her Chevy Impala -- her dad's graduation gift to her. 8) He then took her to the DMV to get the title transferred over, etc. Then we unloaded the car. (My cute little apartment is a disaster area....) Then we got lunch at Busboys and Poets (which was an instant hit with our newly minted International Studies grad 8) ).

Now we get to shove furniture around in order to wall off a corner of the living room for her. It's one thing to make her sleep on the sofa when she's only home for breaks; now that she's here full-time, however, a little privacy only seems fair. I told her that once she gets a job, we'll see how much extra it would cost to get a two-bedroom place, and if she could afford to pay the difference in the rent, we could move. Stay tuned....

My hands break out in little bumps on the first day each summer that it's hot and sticky and I'm out in it. Not sure whether it's a sun allergy or a heat rash. Anyhow, I got it this weekend. It's pretty much gone now, tho.

I'm tired. Had a ton of tasking to do at work today. Made for a long day at the end of a long week. I am totally looking forward to my two days off.

I just deleted all my PMs in inbox, sentbox, and saved. Got sick of it being constantly full from back when Pantheon was active. Hope I hadn't had any important messages saved.

Enjoying the long weekend, (bank holiday monday in the uk).

On Friday I thought about approaching staff/shop about the price tag put on two Anton Pieck prints. £3 ($4.95) each, seemed to me to be far too low for these delightful pictures.
Anyway, I decided to just buy them for myself, and they now hang on the wall in my room.
I have this one, LINK, but couldn't find the other - for anyone interested.
