sorry to hear of your loss. Losing a parent is very difficult. Any jackass can kick down a barn, but it takes a good carpenter to build one.

I am sitting out on my deck, took a dip in the pool, sipping a raspberry mohito with slices of strawberries and melon, looking at the house that the bank will soon own, looking at all the work, all the money and you know what? F- - k it, all the house in the world, all the pools, all the pretty landscaping, all the blooming flowers, all the beach, all of everything, and the end result is I am sitting here alone. It all doesn't matter if you don't have someone to share it with.
Too much mohito.
Happy holidays everyone.

Ya shoulda driven down here this weekend, lorin -- and brought the mojitos with you!
Magickmaker's on her way home. I'm savoring my last few hours (minutes?) of having the house to myself. Spent most of the weekend knitting, since the Watch was down.
Altho I did get it together to clean the oven. It was necessitated by an incident last week involving a piping hot tray of Trader Joe's butter chicken and a warped cookie sheet. <shudder>
Av -- Losing a parent sucks. Hang in there.

On a happier note, I love my temp profile pic. Albert claimed he never smiles in pictures and so I told him to sit his ass down, handed bloodguard bob the camera and sneak attacked Albert with a hug from behind and so he smiled. Ali is right, I am good at getting everyone's good side.

Sorry, Av....
I am... blah. Having an awful week at work. Don't even feel like ranting about it. Though I do finally have internet back after moving. My new place is painted white, beige, purple, red, metallic silver, maroon, powder blue, and brown. We're talking about one room here. Most of the colors end abruptly in mid-brushstroke. Leftovers? Cheap samples? Painter with a really short attention span? At any rate, my new landlord says I can repaint it any color I want. Suppose I probably could not make it worse. He didn't bat an eye when I said I was thinking about painting it chroma key green.

I said it already in another thread, but I'll say it again - My condolences Av.
We started potty training the boy this weekend. It started off just fine, but the novelty wore off by the end of the first day, and the struggle has begun. Fingers crossed.

Best of luck, Cag. The good news is that nobody goes off to college still wearing diapers.
Apropos of nothing, I don't think the diaper manufacturers have done the mothers of the world any favors in regards to potty training. I suspect it was a lot easier to potty-train a kid when they were put in regular ol' cotton nappies from birth, instead of micro-wicking-stay-dry fabric. Even the most potty-training-averse babies must have eventually seen the sense in getting out of wearing a soppy, smelly butt-bag all the time.

Yeah, I can probably count on one hand the number of times his diapers have leaked (well, maybe two hands, but definitely not in the double digits). Still, I'd rather deal with a harder time diaper training than contant diaper rash.
