I know, and the antihistamine in the new formula works for crap. Damn those crystal meth makers anyhow...

You can still get it, you just have to ask for it and, I assume, provide ID. At least, that's how it works in Ohio
And you should see a doctor Harbringer as soon as you can. The idea is to set the toe so it will knit properly. If it doesn't, you have a messed up toe that might cause problems later or they have to re-break it to set it properly.

I'm not sure they're selling the old Nyquil even from behind the counter any more. Anyhow, I went over to CVS awhile ago and stocked up on OTC drugs (including the 12-hour decongestant pills that you have to sign for
) and some sadly non-narcotic cough syrup. Hoping to get a decent night's sleep tonight!

Earlier this morning, Beorn went outside to hang some clothes to dry in our carport. While he was doing so, an opossum approached him and lied down next to him. He didn't notice it approach, all he knew was it was not there when he started and it was lying there panting when he finished and looked down.
Unfortunately, Beorn didn't mention it to me for several hours when he looked again and saw it still lying there "playing possum." He also noticed three live babies clinging to it.
I called Animal Control at 1:00, who told me to call Wildlife Services. I had to leave a message and had no idea if they would come out or if we were going to have to deal with this ourselves. In the meantime, we took Waffles and Wiffles, the two somewhat feral cats hyperception and Beorn have claimed, and put them in our storage/laundry room which is attached to the house but has a separate entrance. If the mother opossum was dead, we didn't want either of them going after the babies. Beorn also said it looked like one of the babies was already gone by the time we got the cats in there.
Finally, at 6:30, Wildlife Services showed up. They removed the mother and found the third baby underneath her. All three of them were alive!
Beorn explained what happened to Wildlife Services, and the agent thinks the mother was probably hit by a car and crawled off the road.
I am not a fan of opossums, but I hope the three babies are able to be released somewhere safely, after having been cared for until they are old enough to stand a chance...

hee hee.
You can blame hyperception for those names...
Waffles found us first, and he earned his name because he wavered for the longest time between wanting to be claimed and being stand-offish.
When Wiffles showed up, he looked like he could be Waffles younger brother, so he was named to sound similar.

Ali, feel better soon! Get lots of rest, and drink lots of liquids! (OJ, not beer!)

you're more advanced than a cockroach,
have you ever tried explaining yourself
to one of them?

where they get upset about the [size of my]
trailer, and i'm always like...take my trailer,
cause... i'm from Kentucky
and that's not what we brag about.

breakthrough! while doing laundry i was thinking about my fable. moreover i was thinking when my fable. so i started backtracking and came up with the answer.
i really have been writing as i went along - with a vague goal in mind. now i am starting to think of the history. the fable is taking on a life of its own.

Argh. Went to my boss to ask for vacation, since he doesn't read the calendar. Response was basically: Okay. By the way, I need you to work on your day off every week for the next 6-8 weeks or so. So I've gone from not being able to take off a Monday or Friday to not being able to take off a Sunday, Monday, or Friday. Forget vacation, I won't even have a weekend for the next two months. Never mind that he's taken THREE vacations in the last eight months. It's been over five years since I last took a full week off. To borrow a line from Terry Pratchett, I'm about to happen to someone. As of next month I will have been there for three years, in which time my pay has gone up 24 cents per hour. I really hope they bother giving me a review this year, because I have things to say. Unprintable things at the moment, but I have a month to edit them into something that probably won't get me fired.
Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing
