P4, baby.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

I'm shocked that Fist hasn't posted!!!

Option 1.

I would almost say let's start P4 as I've forgotten what I've done in P3. That being said, I'd still really like to know what happens in P3.
The King has one more move.

I think he ignores the thread because he expects it to be people messing with him. :P

Yeah, but he's so addicted, even though he knows we're just messing with him, he still comes in and reads, hoping that it's really Xar with updates.

I just got home, OK?!?!??!!! Sheesh!!!!

Xar, I know your life is crazy these days. Yes, it's driving me up the f---ing wall, but I understand. And if I am understanding about looooong waits for results, you're home free with everybody else! :D

As far as voting goes... I'll take whichever gets us the most turns. My hunch is P4 would be the one.

If we wait another two months for results that's we've already been waiting more than four months for, then get two or three turns per year until it ends... Seriously, just shoot me now. Yes, I'll certainly play. (Regardless of what I say to others from time to time when my jitters are high.) And Zephyr will do his utmost to save Eiran. Thus, prolonging the game, and dragging out a pace much slower than I'd like.

P4, otoh, is designed to be easier processing? And in the beginning, there's much fewer DRPs to process. Plus, in the beginning, Xar, your enthusiasm is likely higher than later in the game. Even if you still love Eiran and P3, it's likely not as compelling for you as it was earlier on? So we'd get more turns per year.

One other thought ... I said P3 because I don't want it to end with a whimper ... I would like things wrapped up. If you think you can process the turn - give a nice wrap up and then on to P4 - I would support that!

Last option for me, provided I'll have enough time to follow P4 ;)

seriously, i'd like a brand new game when Xar will be able to follow it continuosly, i don't think anyone of us like the idea to hang on waiting for the result tha could virtually never come...

so i vote for P4 when Xar will be able to run it smoothly

So Xar, I think we all appreciate that you're asking our input on this, but which one do YOU want? Sure, you've committed to running this game, but it's really you doing a really freakin' huge favor for all of us. If Fist is right, then P4 would involve more enthusiasm on your part, and less tedium in processing turns. If that's the case... if you would honestly enjoy doing P4 instead of P3, then vote for P4. Your vote wins.

'Cause if the idea of having to process this current turn of P3 makes it feel like a huge task to undertake... it's probably not where you want to be spending your time. It'll take you longer to get started, and take you longer to get through, plus the less streamlined rules will make it take longer still to process. But if none of that stuff bothers you, and you're just grooving off the cool stories we're writing in your head... do that.

But for Gods' sake, if you do end P3 now, at least tell us what you had planned. Don't leave us with an unresolved cliffhanger. I might not hunt you down in Germany for that; but New York is a lot closer to me.

Xar wrote: 1) Try to continue P3 until the end of the game - which isn't that far away, turn-wise; if enough players are left and this option is chosen, I'll try to process the turns whenever possible, giving it as much of a priority as I can.

2) Discontinue P3 and stop there; if this is the chosen option, I'll obviously understand - I haven't exactly been the most present gamemaster here in the last few months.

3) Discontinue P3, take a short hiatus and then try for a P4; obviously this is a strange option, but the start of a Pantheon game is always fairly easy since players cannot do many actions at first, and P4 was planned to have a slow character progression as well. If this option is chosen, I'll focus whatever time I can find towards finishing the tools that should make processing P4 much faster and easier than P3.

C'mon, we expect it. Only P2 had an actual played to conclusion anyway...it's not like you'd be breaking tradition.

For what it's worth, I'm fine with option 1 or 3.

I'm creating a poll for this. I'm gonna vote 1 in it, because I want some closure for my faithful, but 3 is fine with me too.

I don't think anybody is gonna vote 2...and if you are, just quit playing. :D
