Did you like it? Who was your favourite character? And why? I loved this film... Jack Sparrow was very funny  And I thought it was an all round amazing film.

I think Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow ;) carried the whole film. Not that the rest of it was bad - it was all done very well - but it wouldn't have been anywhere near the same without Sparrow 8)

I thought POTC was terrific. Johnny Depp was indeed inegral to my enjoyment of the film. All in all it was a clever, amusing and very entertaining film. I bought the dvd and I plan to enjoy it again very soon. :-)

I went to see it thinking "huh... it must be bad, based on a Disney ride... lame..."
And I went out from the teather wanting to be a pirate and have a ship and sail the Caribbean and say: " Arrrrh ye landlubber" . A total pirate convert... ;)
I loved this film! It was like an adventure matiné of old but with better special effects ;)

I'll just add another quote from the invaluable Mr Rilstone and his review of PotC (www.aslan.demon.co.uk/pirates.htm):
I have never been to Disneyland. I can however, think of much worse things to base action movies on than popular theme-park rides. Thousand page long linguistically inspired three volume novels, to take a random example. Theme park rides and action movies have a good deal in common: both are basically sequences of thrilling set pieces between which the viewer is propelled at break neck speed whether he likes it or not.

I love Johnny Depp, and thought his performance was the best Keith Richards impersonation I've ever seen! I thought he movie was entertaining, but once was enough for me.

Watched this for the first time last night, and I have to say that the best thing about it was - the actress that played Elizabeth. What a beautiful woman!

I got this for Christmas but haven't watched it yet. I'm glad to get all your opinions. (Loved your comments, Ermingard.) I see I'm going to enjoy the characters, but does anyone have anything to say about the plot?

It's very fast-paced. I really like it... The Sword fight with Orlando and Jack Sparrow is the coolest :)

I re watched Pirates this past weekend and found it just as entertaining as the first time. A masterful piece of work by all involved. "Best Pirate movie ever."
