Guitar lessons have taken a great new angle over the last few weeks. been learning to 'piano' - plucking 4 strings at once with thumb and first three fingers. Usually middle 4 strings but that depends on chord. In a 4/4 rhythm, piano on 1, slap strings on 2, piano on 3, slap strings on 4. With the occasional strum with nails on the 'and' between 3 and 4, and the occasional bass note on the 'and' between 4 and 1.
Started off with nice easy open chords like Cmaj7 to Am7 and back again, then got used to moving to top four strings for Dm7 (with Cmaj7).
Now doing same but with barre chords, current lesson is Cmaj7 to C#dim to Dm7 to G7 to G7add13 (all 5 barred) and back round. i laughed in disbelief when teacher showed me what he wanted me to learn first time, but I'm picking it up ok.
I have a pleasant ache in my left hand and wrist, and on about the 5th time round I start getting dud notes as my barre loses strength.
But all's well in guitar-lesson-world
