{{{Jaz and Jaz's mom}}}

Love and Healing Light headed N'awlin's way, if I am recalling where you have said in the past your mom is located.

I was all set to comment on your avatar as well, lorin. I don't recall seeing that one in your Facebook album. It is yet another gorgeous one. What is its title?

Jaz, like Luci said, there are many breakthroughs in treatments and the chemo is a lot less debilitating than it was even five years ago. My thoughts are with you as I too have lost a parent to cancer but your mom is not lost yet nor probably for a long time to come so hang in there and yes, it's most important to take care of yourself and your family so that when the opportunity arises for you to go see her, you will be in a much stronger calmer mental state which will benefit you both.

Sarge, sorry about your nutria. Prayers back at you.

On other notes... I filled my mouth several times with huge portions of schweddy balls today. They were delicious. I like schweddy balls, they made my tongue dance with joy.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

I need to find me some schweddy balls...

I didn't get much done today. I guess that's a good thing. Gotta go to the grocery store tomorrow morning, then book club in the afternoon.

Thanks, everyone. |G And yes, she lives near New Orleans still. Her prognosis is good, I think. It's just stressful. And scary. Not being able to help is the worst feeling. I know too many people who have lost someone to cancer. It's...I just can't describe it. I guess this means I need to amp up my cancer walks next year.

In other news, we are almost all packed for the big move Saturday. Still so much to do. I went thrifting yesterday and scored an outfit for $15. A dress, a wide belt and some tights (those were actually on clearance; I don't buy used tights, don't worry). Today could use some apple cider, I think.

I have spent waaaaaaaay toooooo much time today wandering around the Watch today. Very unproductive. I'm ashamed. and I am signing off. Time to get on with life.

Don't be, lorin. Good to see you active on the Watch. There are lots of worse things you could be doing. You are always welcome, safe, and among friends here.

I deactivated facebook today. I have decided I spend too much time online. It wastes time, screws up my perspective and is just plain ole' unproductive. I have an addictive personality and this online stuff feeds it. I am also going to try and spend less time here. I am going to try coming here only once (or twice) a day. I sat my fat butt in front of this computer all weekend and did nothing. I can do THAT when I am dead but not now. So I am taking my life and perspective back.

Who knows, maybe something good will come out of this.

We're happy to see you for whatever time you want to spend here, lorin. :)

I'm getting pretty fed up with Facebook myself. Usually I roll with the changes, but this last one -- it's been days, and I'm still trying to find the best way to cope with it. I don't mind the ticker so much -- I just ignore it, mostly -- it's the fact that the newsfeed is now showing me everything everybody posts anywhere, even on the walls of people I don't know. And I could swear I blocked all the gaming notifications except for the two or three games I play.... Ugh. I'd shift everything to Google+, except I don't know as many people there.

You probably have to reblock everything if you can find out how. No facebook for me. :D

Busy week so far, but the boss is going away at the end of it, so we're getting a half-day Thursday, and Friday off, which is pretty damn cool. (It's not like they had to do it or anything...a few of us have got keys, they just thought it would be nice to give us the time off too.)

I've only been awake for 45 minutes, and already I've lost three games of Solitaire and gotten yelled at by Magickmaker. Things can only get better, right?

Work sucks. Overcrowded for months - short of staff - management burying their heads in the sand - no pay rise for 2 years.
