Hawkwind provided background music and interim music to the classic The Chronicles of Amber audio books read by Roger Zelazny himself! The first 5 books, I believe-they're awesome. 8)

And they are the missing link between Motörhead's own Lemmy Kilmister and fantasy author Michael Moorcock.

He's also the reason I'm a BÖC fan, but that's a whole 'nother story.

Black Blade is a good song, and I think Moorcock wrote the lyrics to is.

There's also Stormbringer by Deep Purple.

Yup, Moorcock wrote Black Blade, as well as Veteran of the Psychic Wars and The Great Sun Jester. He wasn't directly involved with Deep Purple's Stormbringer, though from that angle, a ton of bands did music based on his work. (I used to run a site dedicated to such things.)

Rome - To die among strangers a lovely band carrying on the post industrial folk tradition.
Monsters, they eat
Your kind of meat
And they're moving as far as they can
And as fast as they can
