Cats are resilient critters; one of mine made a full recovery from a back injury that kept him off his feet for a couple of months. (And he went right back to climbing curtains and everything else in sight.) Still, hoping for a best-case scenario for Sam.
Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing
Is there no world for tomorrow, if we wait for today?

I'm a total dork. I'm all excited that I got to be a witness in a photo lineup and I most likely will get to ride in a cop car on Tuesday and go to court to testify against the guy who was stealing tablets in our store...

Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Cleburne, you are nuts.
Good luck tomorrow!
Personally, I'm planning a writing marathon tomorrow.
Magickmaker will be at work all afternoon, so the house will be quiet. I'm still ahead on my NaNo word count but I would like to get closer to nailing 50K by the end of this weekend.
So far today, I have finished the Turkey Day menu and the Yule dinner menu, figured out which cookies I'm making for gifts for my bosses this year, made several grocery lists, put away the new and old recipes that had piled up (too lazy, after acquiring or making the recipe, to put them away where they belonged...), and updated the holiday card list on paper. It's amazing what one can find to do when one is dodging one's NaNo novel...

I'm avoiding laundry right at this moment...
I'm thinking of going to see the new twilight movie. I know, I just lost a ton of coolness points. I did however head up a discussion at work about Edward impregnating Bella being against all vampiric rules since his body temp is too cold to be harboring live swimmers so she must have cheated on him and if that's not the case then we ended up in a discussion on what you feed a half human/half vampire baby because you sure as heck don't wanna breast feed...

I never knew that selling my mother's house could turn into the major hassle it's turned into. Bleah!
Spoiler
The contract on the house fell through for a variety of unbelievable reasons. I couldn't make this stuff up if I try. And in the meantime, the roof started leaking, so now I have to replace the roof.

Hang in there, Av! You can do it!
The US holiday season starts this week with Thanksgiving on Thursday. The firm gives us Thursday and Friday off. I had thought I'd asked for Wednesday as well, back when I was expecting to have to drive to Roanoke -- but apparently I didn't. So now I'm debating whether to ask for it off. Magickmaker is off Wednesday, and Batty and Shara_Lunison are driving up that day, so I'd like to. But another secretary on our three-person team is already going to be off, and the other one is just back from sabbatical today and will probably whine about being stranded on her first week back. Urgh. Maybe I'll work a half day.

I know, right? Being at work today is killing me. I'm, like, 6,000 words from the end of the book. That's 24 pages, figuring 250 words per page. Sounds like a lot to write. But you know how it is when you're *reading* a book and you have to put it down 24 pages from the end? Yeah. That's where my head is at today.wayfriend wrote:aliantha: what are you doing here? write!

It's Monday of a three-day Holiday week. I'm still in carb-coma from an excellent mini-Thanksgiving dinner cooked and enjoyed over the weekend with the Indyfriends.
And I'm facing the next-to-last bolus of test documentation that I have to review as part of the job I am transitioning away from. I've procrastinated starting the review all morning, and feel no great urge to begin now, either.

Did anyone hear how Null's disciplinary went. Your man was fighting his battles when he last posted here and it would be good to know that things are ok.
Wow! Christmas is creeping up on us again and as per usual I 'aint any where near getting it together. More stress.... more stress..... more stress!

I know, right? I just realized that a couple of projects are much closer to their due dates than I realized... and I keep getting stuff thrown at me last minute... not all bad though, like last night I got a text from a bass player asking if I could play electric this morning...

Less than 3200 words left. The...day...is...crawling...
It doesn't help that everybody is already in Turkey Day mode. I went up to our cafeteria to get some dessert at 1:45pm and they were already closing. They usually don't shut anything down 'til 2:30.
Plus it's rainy today. <grumble mutter whine>
