Fully understood LZ, as with the notorious recipie post which alas was locked before I could add my contribution that amongst cannibal cultures it is felt that by far the best eating is to be had from the french while the spanish are apparently virtually inedible (perhaps your next cullinary creation should be '....stuffed with truffles and seethed in it's mothers milk, served alongside feathery arab pastries and a young sauterne - say Chateau d' Yquem....')
Yes I too think Anne Rice has much to answer for in the descent of vampire into it's current appaling 'handsome but tortured, good but misunderstood' state. But I think '30 Days of Night' (and not it's attrocious sequel) might help - there's nothing good about those mofo's at all!
A quick perusal of Jean-Louis Costes' back catalogue (might be a dangerous description if you get my drift) convinces me that a colaboration between the two of you could only result in what might well be a 'life changing experience'. I wonder if even the traditionally broad-minded American art scene is ready for that yet! He sounds like a fascinating man LZ - and I'm guessing one well worth listening to.
I studied with a Bhha'i some 30 plus years ago who was involved with Bernard Leach (also a Baha'i) and his St Ives pottery movement. At that time the faith was struggling against severe repression, mainly in Iran I believe, and it is good to hear from you that it endures to this day in sufficient good health to hold a congress in NY.
Once again your kindness in the offer of a visit to your mountain cabin is
greatly appreciated. I have just had my annual vacation - to Istanbul this year - and am alas so broke as a result that future trips will have to be placed on hold untill i) I am solvent again or ii) I win the lottery (whichever comes first!)
