Except at Thanksgiving! Then, a big bird is mighty tasty.

ali, for someone who just saw The Muppet Movie, that Big Bird reference is in questionable taste. :P

Not that I would not say Yum. I would also reference a word used in LOLspeak for enthusiastic eating...but it has some rather dire implications when used on this board.

Saw my surgeon today and learned some results of the pathology done on my thyroid and apparently a bit of tissue from my windpipe the surgeon removed when she saw it because "it's not something that was supposed to be there."

Both came back positive for cancer. Because of my age, I am automatically classified as a stage 2 patient. However, I need to wait until all of the natural thyroid hormone is out of my body before we can do an iodine uptake to see if the cancer has spread anywhere else. This supposedly takes six weeks, which is also why changes to the amount of the synthetic thyroid I now take daily will be changed in six week increments.

I now have an appointment with radiology/oncology for Monday morning to discuss and schedule the uptake. I hope to enjoy the holiday season and not think or mention this again in the meantime. So, I am only asking one more time this year for those of you willing to send positive thoughts my way to continue on doing so.

My eternal gratitude to all.

Lighting a candle now. I put a drop of lavender oil that Heatherly extracted when teaching essential oils classes at the World School. That should make it extra potent.

Hey guys, the worst is if it's a flare up of Wurd.

I am all kinds of tired out today. Between the geophysics conference taking up three whole sections of the Moscone Center and SF Art Institute finals we hardly got a chance to breathe in the print center. I did not one, not two, but TEN times my projected sales goal. Even if I just make my goal the next few days, today pretty much guarantees me the first in the district spot for a few more days anyway. Thanks for the support, Sorus. Nice $160 job you did today. I'll pad the jar with Bravo cards for you tomorrow.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Menolly, you know that both Dam-sel and I have shed many tears and said many prayers since you first learned of this challenge two months ago.

I am so glad you have chosen to share the information with the rest of the Watch, for there is surely potent support to be had here. Nevertheless, I know how reluctant you are to broadcast your health issues and that you just want to set this aside until the uptake testing after the holidays. Go ahead and put it out of your mind. You can't change it by worrying about it...at least not change it in any positive way. Meanwhile, the glow of all the healing energy the rest of us will beam your way can hopefully do it's work.

As we go into the season of Light, remember that those of us who know you understand the Truth of your avatar. Light, Love and Song are not just characters you have played in Gravin Threndor games...they are who you are.

Wishing strength for you, Pam. Six weeks is a helluva long time to wait before finding out that you don't have cancer. Use 'em well.

Again, thanks all.

Today I received a totally unexpected surprise. From a corporation, no less.

I am a "fan" on Facebook of a chain of restaurants called TooJay's. They are mostly located in south Florida, but they opened a store here in Gator Town a couple of years ago. It's the only kosher-style deli anywhere near here, and it's pretty darn good, even to someone who was raised on the classic Deli Den.

I've been a fairly active fan on their wall, and hyperception has participated in their corned beef eating contest, as well as having met their "Jaynormous" challenge three times so far. I have won gift certificates off of their wall; so over time it should be no surprise that they have my personal information in their database.

Prior to Thanksgiving, they asked what was on their fans Thanksgiving menu and I posted what I posted here about preparing to go for surgery and deciding not to cook this year but going out for a holiday buffet instead.

Today around 4:00 pm hyperception told me to go outside, as someone was driving around looking for our house. When I did, there was the local TooJay's catering truck pulling up outside. Apparently our local TooJay's contacted hyperception to arrange a delivery time, but he didn't order anything. This was a get well soon gift from TooJay's corporate. They gave me four grocery bags with the following:

(2) loaves of fresh baked rye bread (they were still warm to the touch)
(2) larger than a quart containers of beef cabbage soup
(4) larger than a quart containers of chicken matzah ball soup
(4) potato knish
packets of Gulden's spicy brown and a souffle cup of sour cream for the knishes
and
a dozen small black and white cookies

I am just totally amazed at the kindness shown by both corporate and the local TooJay's. Yum!
