I totally read the Last Chrons at binge-reading speed. I re-read AATE almost immediately after finishing the first read, and it helped a lot, in terms of fixing plot points in my head.
I binge-read Malazan, too. Probably why none of the details stick in my head for very long.

All of them. I read pretty fast, so it's not unusual for me to wait years for a book, then read the whole damn thing in one day. It's bitter-sweet, y'know?
I read AATE in two days. If I'd had a day off, I would have done it in one. While the Harry Potter books wer coming out, I would read the new book one day, my sister would read it the next . So yeah, I'm I binge reader. I re-read a lot though.

Hi guys, missed your posts here. I'm experiencing intermittent 'reply notification' failures, as I believe some others are too.

Ah... anyway... good to hear I'm not alone in my rapid reading habits. Although you all seem more disciplined with the re-reading. This is something I need to work on. I know I really enjoyed a book if I go from the last page to the first, but it is fairly rare for me to do this. There's just too much I haven't read and it's always seducing me.

Yeah, I meant to do it on the train on Wednesday, but when I went to pull it out of my bag, I realized I'd grabbed Fatal Revenant.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Wow, this is spectacular news! I can hardly wait to read the The Last Dark but I trust SRD to take as long as he needs. Willing to wait as long as necessary.
Binge-read? Can you say "Sookie Stackhouse novles"? I plowed through all of them in three days.
But not with SRD. I am cherishing every word. I was about half way through FR and decided to reread ROTE. I have AATE but have not even fliped it open yet. I may not start it until I know the release date for The Last Dark.
Shortly after reading the First chronicles, I picked up the Wounded Land. After that, I swore I would never start a series until it was complete. I thought I would go nuts waiting for the next two books. Then ROTE was published. It sat on my book shelf for three days, staring at me. Finally I could not take it anymore and broke down. I hate being in the middle of an unfinished series but it is worth it for SRD.

Does this mean Seareach that you get to read the first draughts etc before the rest of us - I guess it must! How do you get into such an exalted position without being called Mrs Donaldson or something like that! (By the way your avatars are always without exeption HOT, HOT HOT!) [Cure song title there just incase you didn't spot it ].

I wrote him a letter about 25 years ago and then when he sent me a form letter back I wrote him another letter....and then another one...etc etc... It went from there. Check out the Elohimfest vids for his version of events.
And glad you like my avatars. I went through a "assatar" stage way back...but that's a long story!
