He gnawed all the goodies off the second bone and hid it in his bed but then we had to take the bones away as he was actually mean biting BGB whenever BGB would walk by the stash. BGB was the one who actually took the bones away and Moose bit him hard when he took them. No broken skin but aggressive serious defensive mean. BGB couldn't figure out why Moose was being so aggressive and chalking it up to the fact that he brought the neighbor's cat, Tipper, down to live with us while her owner is back in the hospital. But no, he was defending his prime rib bones, can you blame him? The roast was delicious.

I scored BIG TIME on some clearance items today. I got a samsung 21.5 inch monitor for 24.94 plus tax and CA recycle fee and I got a GE 16 megapixel, 15x zoom digital camera for ten bucks then I spent 7.99 for a 4gb SDHC card that was on sale. Granted GE is not the greatest quality when it comes to cameras but hey, I couldn't pass it up. I can't decide whether I want to keep it or gift it. Decisions, decisions. Of course I've already taken it out of the box and played with it a bit so gifting may be considered tacky at this point. AND I KNOW I don't NEED another camera when the main camera I have IS the bomb diggety but hey, who can pass up that price??? OH HELLS YES!!!! Just looked it up on line and it's cheapest price is $128 bucks at Amazon. SCORE!!!!

How much do I LOVE doing my tax on holidays? I've been going since midday. It's 12.52am now and I still haven't finished the f... fine details. Nearly there though. Gonna call it a night and knock over the last bit tomorrow. I usually get refunds because I run a home office (and will do this year), but I still struggle to think it's worth it! It's such a poo-filled job, don't you think? Anyway, watching the cricket while receipt-sorting earlier in the day was rather pleasant. Most of you North Americans probably don't understand the game, but 5-day test cricket is theatre of the highest order. Tomorrow's script will be very interesting indeed. Good day to you all

I got a really nice collection of holiday giftcards from my attorneys, so I decided to admit defeat with Magickmaker's old laptop and buy myself a new computer. I got an Asus all-in-one PC. It's *way* more than I need. A 1 TB hard drive seems slightly ridiculous for somebody who never downloads video, except to watch stuff on YouTube occasionally...but there ya go. Anyway, the computer arrived yesterday and I've basically spent the last 36 hours or so getting it set up so I can use it. Note to self: Next time you get a new computer, spring for the Windows Easy Upgrade cable -- doing it over wi-fi is way too slow....
It's also a good thing that I took this week off. I dunno what I would have done if I'd had to cram all this into a regular weekend...

Congrats Ali! That's so exciting. BGB is getting a "new" laptop too. We had a customer buy a new laptop because he physically broke the dvd on his old one and didn't want to get it fixed. He gave us the old one with the broken dvd and so Derek is wiping it clean and installing fresh operating systems and so forth and so BGB should have his new(used) toshiba tomorrow night. Granted it's not in the prettiest shape but it was free and I think Derek was feeling a bit of guilt over his theory about my old broken mac titanium G4 being totally wrong and instead of setting it up to be able to be used as a desktop with monitor, it is now a paperweight. The old laptop fell off the bed with a little help from Moose and cracked the hinge and eventually over time the screen went dead. The bottom part worked still so Derek was going to take the old screen part off and set it up for an external monitor. Apparently it won't power up if you disconnect the screen and unfortunately he broke the screen plug so it won't plug back in. Oh well. I wasn't using it anyway but I did manage to get some guilt leverage out of it despite that fact.
Sorus, if you read this before work tomorrow, I found the missing usb chargers, they are in a plastic jar on the bottom shelf in front of register 1. I also told Sal to please tell you in the morning in case you don't read this.
As for me, I'm tired. Not that I have been working hard or anything, in fact I've been slacking and need to fix that. I just haven't been sleeping well.

I get to sleep late lately... it's so nice. I don't have to get up at any particular time for a whole 'nother week.
Got a package from my Mom today-- Christmas presents!!
I had been thinking of getting back into some artwork-- my daughter's been bugging me ("I don't know why you don't do all this stuff you're good at" "I'm kinda busy working so you and your brother can have an education")-- and my Mom sent a sketchbook and colored pencils. Kewlness!!!

Day 3 of setting up the new computer. I'd downloaded the printer driver but never installed it.

OTOH, I noticed last night that there's a Blu-Ray symbol on the DVD drive door. I hadn't intended to ever buy a Blu-Ray player....

I've been trying to get some new years plans going, while being stuck home with the wife and kids, but everything has fallen through. I doubt I'll even get Carla to stay up to midnight now. Well, I have some Guinness anyway...

Jenn, now you're just going to have to buy an LED projector to show those amazing Blu-Ray disks you're going to have to buy. Oh, and surround sound, of course....
Ali, my daughter is 16 and it was actually said rather sweetly... she's a good kid. She's at an all nighter tonight, while here I am at home, just me and the hub... not so bad, actually...

Hey, y'all... this past week my hubby and kids have been sick, but it's actually been a super week! A friend of mine from college is in the area... one of those friends I never got to know super-well, but thought was interesting and hoped I would, ya know?
Well, she and I got to hang out for a couple hours on Tuesday!
And then my hubby and I were able to invite her and her hubby (an interesting character in his own right) over to our place!
She was a math geek like me... and some of the conversations that we all had last night inspired me to do some math stuff with my 4-year-old this morning. So now he's like, "Mommm, can we play another math game? Can we play a science game?" So now I'm pretty stupidly happy.

Not likely to be able to stay up til midnight?
Hrmm... sounds about right! (sigh!)
That said, I hate it when plans fall through... especially plans for hanging out with people!

I'll be reveling alone tonight, too. Magickmaker is spending New Year's Eve with her former college roommates. She'll be back sometime tomorrow. Guess I'll order a pizza. Or I guess I could go to the grocery store and pick up some supplies for a private party for me, myself and moi....

I did almost suggest to Cag that he pm me his phone number. But Carla's already come at me with a butcher knife once...
