I am not a SRD fan, but the two books of Mordant's Need are my favorite books hands down. I re-read them at least once a year. Last re-read was Oct 2011. It is good to find a place where others express thier love of the books.
Well, welcome to the Watch. Plenty more here than just SRD. (But have you read any of his other books?)
Oh, ooops. Dang! Forgot about the whole "gotta ask next" thing.
O.K. - What fact does Terisa bring up that finally proves to Geraden that he affected the translation that brought him to her? (That it was not her "pulling" him to her?)
P.S. I read all through thread to make sure I did not ask a repeat question and saw IS corrected a few answers (good catch), but I would like to take the liberty to correct a few others. 1) The mirror that Geraden shifts to (accidentally) bring him & Terisa back to her old apartment was not one of the chasm mirrors - it was Barsonage's salty ocean mirror. 2) The house outside of Romish where Queen Madin & Torrent were living was named Vale House (unless there is some printing of the books where it appears as Haven House, but's always been Vale House in mine).
To Av: Thank you so much. Glad to be here. I have tried reading TC. I know that various books in the series have won many awards, but I did not find it to my liking (to be generous about it). Sorry.

That the mirror in her apartment was broken?

No need to be sorry. The Chrons aren't for everybody. The Gap is his best I think, but can be even more brutal.
But, there's plenty here apart from SRD for you to participate in as well, so look around.
Good question, Terisasmirror. Av beat me to the answer. Good catch on those mistakes but I can safely say that I can see how "Haven House" got overlooked since Haven Farm is the farm that Thomas Covenant owns.
Hurry up Av, question us PLEASE!!!
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....
Arrgh, I'm thiiiss close to knowing the answer... he was a renegade imager at first... I think there was something with a fire...? ...His body irreparably injured, and Eremis rescuing him.

They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."

"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."
-Elisabeth Elliot, Preface, "A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael"
You are correct, I think. During Joyse's campaign to create the congery he hunted down renegade imagers and Gilbur was burned out of his cave and many of his mirrors destroyed or confiscated. He was permanently injured in the fire and rescued by Eremis and forced to join the congery.

What is Terisa's response to seeing her father upon being drawn back to our world?

So you are Quiss Myste? What a festive name! Were you by any chance born in the latter part of December?
Sorry, I couldn't resist...
Welcome to the Watch, Quiss!

Not very sure about this....I don't know if it's appropriate for me to ask, but are you asking about an emotional response? Or a verbal response? Spoiler
All I can remember is that I seem to recall that she sort of wimped out at first, but I vaguely recall her getting her courage up and maybe saying something smart to her dad before disappearing. Can't recall any lines, though.

Seriously, I don't know SD sees these openings sometimes!! ...pfft, I have a neighbor down the street I think I'd like to introduce him to... the guy lives alone and seems to have a huge backlog of puns he never gets to use on anybody...

Intentionally left ambiguous... either, if consistent with the text, will suffice.
Somebody else with a copy will have to check you, or you'll probably have to wait a few days till I can get my hands on the book. Spoiler
I think that the "smart remark" directed in some ways towards her dad... actually was spoken to the Reverend.
That was really a wonderful scene though wasn't it...? =)

How do I see these openings? I can't explain it (though I am sure I've addressed this elsewhere on the Watch a few times) other than to say it is the way my mind works. My internal free-associations tend to be puns.
As for the question: When she appears in her apartment during the charity auction, Terisa's first instinct is to run and hide, but when her father berates her, she does not even speak to him. She just tells Reverend Thatcher to make sure he gets every penny of the proceeds. Then she and Gerarden translate back to Orison.
Since this is just fleshing out Shuram's response and I really do not have a Mordant poser in mind to ask, I will defer the next question to him...unless Linna decides to accept yet another answer, in which case that person will be up.
Love prevails.

SD- alright, alright... I can imagine how a person could have a mind that works like that, if not quite imagine what that would be like!

Sounds good to me! Shuram- I pass the baton to you!

Geraden made a mirror which depicts a champion which may or may not save Mordant. He worked very hard to duplicate someone else's mirror, in order to make a mirror which depicted this champion, so that he might enter the mirror and ask the champion for help. Who made the first mirror in which the champion appeared?
Master Gilbur!!!! That's how Gilbur is able to observe Geraden's abilities and tell them to Eremis. He discovers it when he is overseeing Geraden's making of the duplicate of his own mirror.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....
Ahhhh, if it's a trick question, then the answer must be Adept Havelock!
The first mirror the Champion appears in is the one one cast for the augery on the babe (future King) Joyce. The Champion apears in one of the fragments after the augery is cast.
Happy New Year All!!
Savor Dam - You should never meet my mom. Her mind works that way too. If you two were in the same room, I have no doubt that the world would implode from the sheer weight of puns...
I have great sympathy for your family.
