ugh... it is 2 in the morning and I just noticed that our freezer is broken. I had just done the weekly shopping, too. I moved all I could to the refrigerator as it seems to be working, but some items will be ruined. And all my harvested peppers from last fall that I had deep frozen are going t have to be thrown away now too. At least there is a positive side to my husband snoring so much that I can't sleep well at night- could have been worse disaster in the morning.

Monsters, they eat
Your kind of meat
And they're moving as far as they can
And as fast as they can

And they're moving as far as they can
And as fast as they can
Can't you just bury it in the snow outside your front doorAnanda wrote:ugh... it is 2 in the morning and I just noticed that our freezer is broken. I had just done the weekly shopping, too. Spent 2 hrs at work scraping gum of the shop floor - crap work but someone's got to do it (and I'm the only clown in the place who will!). So I say with heartfelt emotion "Damn chewing gum!

Unfortunately, we're too dar south for that. But... The freezer fixed itself this morning. My husband, being ever so nonmechanical, called it good enough. Mystery remains open, though both the freezer and the refridgerator are new from last fall, so still under warranty.sindatur wrote:Can't you just bury it in the snow outside your front doorAnanda wrote:ugh... it is 2 in the morning and I just noticed that our freezer is broken. How things have changed. When I was at college 40 or so years ago I was mucking about in the Biology lab when I discovered some dried peas and 18 inch thermometer cases on the back shelves. Not being conversant with the connection between barrel length and projectile velocity I thought it would be a great jape to shoot a pea at the jeg of a girl at the front of the class. To my horror, instead of just squealing a bit and making a fuss she fell to the floor clutching her leg. The following day she had a bruise the size of a side plate and my shame was complete. I was not thankfully sent to prison though!

I. AM. ANGRY.
I am angry at the country where I live. If you can think of a way to f*** things up, they've already done it.
I am angry at politicians who ride around in slick motorcades past villages where kids die of polio and typhoid and women walk for miles to find potable water.
I am angry at the young people who think the world owes them a living, who know all about AIDS and continue to screw around like there was no tomorrow, then throw away the children who result.
I am angry that there are no schools operating for most of the poor children.
I am really really freaking angry that Nigeria is touting their SPACE PROGRAM when Nigeria has some of the planet's highest illiteracy, infant mortality, maternal mortality, traffic fatalities; I mean what the hell are they thinking!!!
I am angry that electricity is only available for most people 2-3 completely random hours a day. Try running any kind of business where value is added to raw materials, on that. Try producing cloth, paint, wood products, preserved food, or any kind of small industry like that.
I am angry at so many things and just getting it out, confessing it to God in prayer, and being real about it is helping me enormously. Bear with me. There will probably be more.

But wait, there's more. I am angry at NJ housewives who dress their 10-year olds in lyrcra miniskirts, and at the gay movement for stealing rainbows and unicorns from innocent children, and at the US for being Chuck Norris and RuPaul in cat fight.
I'm angry that the town I grew up in, I'm now completely priced out of. My 80-year old mother is having a hard time finding a place to live, and she was born here and lived her whole life here; where's she gonna go?
I'm still angry that I have to drive by bomb damage every day (some of it from 2008). I'm angry that people who call themselves "Christian" turn and boast about murdering Muslims. I'm angry that all anyone wants to do is go to America (everything free in America!).
I am angry that men won't stop gawking at my teenage daughter and treating her like a pretty object they can take home. I'm sick of getting stared at and hearing the Hausa word for "white person" 50 times a day. I am more than my skin!!! I'm sick of my husband being treated like an ATM machine by staff who don't seem to realize that when they take a ministry vehicle out in the morning that's running fine and bring it back late at night with a broken muffler, a flat tire and a ruined transmission, that there just might not be money to fix it right away, or another car waiting for them to ruin.
I am angry that I have to make choices that hurt someone, somewhere along the line. In that sense, it is perfect for me to be reading AATE right now, that;s where Linden is at.
Thank you for letting me shake my fist, stomp my feet, shout till I'm hoarse, and cuss like a trucker (oh, you didn't hear that part).
