There have always been elements of the storys ocuring in our world (or the Chrons version of it) eg Fouls influence on the sect at the start of the second Chrons, the 'old beggar man', even Drools 'laval eyes if I remember at one point. So in theory there was/is no reason per se why this should not occur. It just doesn't seem quite right though - to me at least. Do we want a Chrons where the seeting is just 'scenery'. Where Donaldson forgoes the beauty and worth of the Land that we have in the first series, the terrible perversion of the Land that we have in the second. The Land is a key player in the trilogies as much as any of the protagonists themselves. Do we really want to reduce the Land to ....well...land.
President of Peace? You fucking idiots!

"I know what America is. America is a thing that you can move very easily. Move it in the right direction. They won't get in the way." (Benjamin Netenyahu 2001.)

....and the glory of the world becomes less than it was....
'Have we not served you well'
'Of course - you know you have.'
'Then let it end.'
