Our precious gift is due March 11, 2013 altho Chelsea is insisting that he/she will be born on HER birthday, which is March 5th.
We are thrilled, excited, scared and a little sad that Mom won't be here (in person) to be part of the birth of her first grandchild. But, we all know she will be with us in her special way.
I'm completely in awe right now...what a feeling!!
For Myles-- When evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love
For Mom-- Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.
Fly...fly high against the sky...
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you
The wind beneath my wings

Bisha'a Tovah!
(May all things happen at their proper time) traditional wish said at such news in the hopes of keeping the "evil eye" turned away. the eye is supposedly jealous of such things, so excessive joy is held in check until after the birth.
Fire Daughter, that is wonderful news. I may not have been here very long but I have read the old posts and feel I know you.
It may have been a long time ago, but I still remember the joy and apprehension (not fear), and that first small flutter when the baby starts to move. May your pregnancy be a happy and easy one as both mine were.
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!
"I must state plainly, Linden, that you have become wondrous in my sight."
Congratulations - what a joy!
Awe and amazement sounds about right..
Condolences until the child is twenty you think, potentially, Effy?
Pish-posh; it's not a tragedy to constantly be upstaged by someone way cuter and smaller and more hilarious than you.
And Fire-Daughter- my sis also wanted to insist that my younger kiddo ought to be born on her birthday.
and be a girl.
Neither of those were to be.
"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor
"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."
-Elisabeth Elliot, Preface, "A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael"
The baby is coming a little sooner than Myles and I planned. We both wanted to be done with school before we started a family. It seems that God has other ideas for us.
Dad is being so funny about it. He keeps saying that he's way too young to be a "Papa". He's thrilled though.
Oh, and Stevie told me I was pregnant before I even took the test. He is insisting that the baby is a girl too.
Everyone here is so excited, my brothers and sisters can't wait to be aunts and uncles...Chels and Imani keep talking to my stomach and Meggie wants the baby to come out and play with her.
We are so blessed. As Mom would say..."What gifts the Lord bestows."

Oh yeah, even though I'm only about 6 weeks along, we are pretty sure that she's a girl. And I don't think it will be any surprise as to what her name will be.
We are already calling her Tracie Rose.
