Congratulations SB! You will absolutely love being a gp. I have one grandson in the room next door at the moment (Patrick). Currently the bed is uncomfortable, before he was too hot. I suppose he will eventually go to sleep!
But wait, I'm sure I just heard a yawn.

That sounds about right, Murrin. You're buying the place, right? It's a big investment.

As well as a nation of pensioners
we are also a nation of home-owners. Always the ambition of newly weds to buy a house. But maybe this is changing. Both my children rent. We have only had two houses, started with a small terrace then moved to the "bay window belt", swopped a back yard for a big garden.

This is exciting... you really weren't expecting it to work out for this fall, right?

"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."

Congrats SB!!
Congrats for your son Deer.
Jenn - what is up, hope all is swell.
Murrin - other than marrying Julie, buying this house is my best decision ever. so good luck with it.
last week Sonny (our dog) stopped eating for two days and was just laying around the house. took him to the vets where he stayed for some 4/5 days.
turns out the non-eating was likely due to Rachel Ray's dogfood. the receptionist at the vets say they see dogs for digestion problems related to the brand more than they like. so a fair warning folks.
but his listlesness was also due to back pain. like me has has some vertebrae that are calcifying. so we have meds for that. strangely enough he has Tramadol for the pain - just like me.
he is also on Ketaconazole (antifungal) for his skin condition. Animax as a topical for his skin. Previcox (anti-inflammatory) for his arthritis.
and the doctor wants him to get a bath for his skin condition every week. so she cut his spa treatment price in half (to $20) for that.
we spent five hundred for the hospital stay and all his treatments. another hundred for the meds. and went and bought a brand new doggie bed for $80 so he doesn't have to jump on the bed or couch when he is feeling under the weather. he loves the bed and has spent about every minute on it since we brought it home. (i also bought him 5 dollars of mixed treats that he absolutely loves)
the bad news? he has a mass in his belly. another 300 hundred for the scan for that. and a trip to Sugarland. (30 minutes each way) and we are looking into accupuncture as well.
but we love our baby and he is absolutely the greatest dog ever. he loves us so much that we have to do whatever we can to take care of him.
so if you are of a mind to - please include him in your prayers. no dog has ever been loved so much and returned that love so much.
thanks for listening.

Sweet, Null.
And thanks, everyone!! He is really happy. Now the work begins.
Had a family over for dinner last night, they are new to Jos and one of their girls and my daughter really hit it off. Actually we all really enjoyed getting to know one another.
Working on Saturday. Well, after I get off KW and FB, anyway.

Big hugs for Sarge, Julie, and Sonny:
Should be a quiet day here. Well, except for the tearing of hair and rending of garments -- I'm planning to work on a trailer for the new book, using a spiffy software package called Power Director 10. If I end up in a screaming fit, I'll make a free 30-second trailer at animoto.com and call it done.

For Myles--
When evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love
For Mom--
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.
Fly...fly high against the sky...
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you
The wind beneath my wings
