Whoa! Due to the craziness of this week, I almost forgot to declare in this thread how awesome the third episode was! The plot seems to be moving along pretty fast, I don't know what they'll do with the rest of the season after the fourth episode (which can be a good thing, provided that they have good ideas).
I foresee only one problem (it hasn't happened yet, and I hope it doesn't happen in a loong time, if ever). The aliens are disguised like us, so pretty much almost anyone can be an alien, but that's not all, they could also be good aliens as well as bad aliens... this ambiguity which can help build tension could also be used for cheap thrills or to conveniently move the plot along...Mission Impossible 2 style.
But, at the moment, I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

I'm a fan of the original and enjoyed it. My mom is a fan of the original and didn't enjoy it. She enjoyed the original because of it's cheez and Diana's over the top female version of the "Mustache twirling villian", which are missing from the Reboot. If you're looking for the Cheez and the over the top Diana character, you won't be happy. The Diana character (Anna played by Morena Baccarain) plays evil much more subtlely, and scarier, IMHOAvatar wrote:So is this worth watching for a fan of the original series?

If anyone is still watching this sorry excuse for a show, we should talk about why it sucks so badly and why we have nothing better to do with our time than watch it.
Things that suck about V:
Tyler
OMG EPIC REVEAL IN EVERY EPISODE
No mention of that reveal in the next episode
Tyler
What the hell is this "soul" business??
Stupid secret lairs
Stupid secret eggs
Stupid Tyler
Pretty much everything else.
Discuss.

I have no idea what any of those terms mean as I couldn't get past the first 15 minutes of the pilot episode. That's more than I could stand of the crapfest that was the original series, for those of you who are counting.

Watched the first series the other week and found it mildly appealing except for Elizabeth Mitchell, who was more than mildly appealing, in fact she's becoming fully hot, far more so than the insipid creature she played in Lost.
I did have a problem with Morena Baccarain tho' in that, and maybe this is just me, but she reminded me (visually) so much of Timothy Olyphant's character in Die Hard 4....!
One other thing haven't any of these people EVER seen a movie where you don't carry on blabbing everything that pops into the space that's, loosely described as a mind, to every Tom, Dick and Harry, you casually encounter....especially ones who are playing (ostensibly at least) the role of Lord Haw Haw or Tokyo Rose, unless you WANT to get yourself and your friends killed?

Do yourself a favor and watch her in Firefly/Serenity, which is being re-aired on the USA cable channel (with commentaries, etc). I don't know if you can get that, but it's worth watching for plenty of reasons, including an absolutely gorgeous Morena in it.finn wrote:I did have a problem with Morena Baccarain tho' in that, and maybe this is just me, but she reminded me (visually) so much of Timothy Olyphant's character in Die Hard 4....!![]()

Agreed. She was infinitely better in Firefly than she ever was in 'V'.dANdeLION wrote:Do yourself a favor and watch her in Firefly/Serenity, which is being re-aired on the USA cable channel (with commentaries, etc). So I finally got around to this...yeah...it sucks.sindatur wrote:I'm a fan of the original and enjoyed it. My mom is a fan of the original and didn't enjoy it.Avatar wrote:So is this worth watching for a fan of the original series?

They've taken bits of the original and twisted them into something new...Just started Season 2, and all it does is make me want to watch the original again.
Think my biggest gripe so far is the limited scale of the "resistance," and the 5th Column...they weren't "seduced" by human feelings...they were morally opposed to the plan for Earth. (Queen? She's a Queen? Uh-uh.)
