Isn't it strange how everything happens at once and at the most incovenient time?
My daughter came over yesterday and set up my new super hub broadband thingy - can't say I can see any difference. It's supposed to be twice as fast as the one I had.
Having a lazy Sunday afternoon; C has gone out to do the bar for a christening!

Got some bad news yesterday. Nothing I can do about it, either. Came into work and ran into someone going through basically the same thing. We said it sucks to not have any choice or control over a situation but to HAVE to care, and be hurt.

Io, this likely means either it's as good as it gets with what you use it for - if for web browsing only, shouldn't make much difference. If it's no good, the problem may likely be with something else, not bandwidth. Also you may check it with something like speedtest.net/ - sometimes the actual speed turns out far from what was expected.
Phantasm, sorry to hear that, I wish you better luck.
Back from World Fantasy Convention. Had a bout of food poisoning Saturday night, but otherwise it was a good weekend, and we brought home some great book.
Then I spent today alternately cleaning the house and working on my NaNo novel. Managed to catch up, too, after the four days out of town.
Back to work tomorrow, after I vote.

I just heard a lovely story on the radio. Huw Edwards has been in Ohio reporting on the elections. He heard that there was a town called Jackson in Ohio that was settled in the early 19th century by Welsh people, Edwardses among them, so he knocked on a few doors, and found a relative!

I had a surreal day. I'll post the details in my blog but the quick version is that I had a rough start followed by some crazy customers and overheard one shocking and appalling cell phone conversation which still has me reeling. On a good note, the horrible customers were thankfully offset by some super charming, wonderfully engaging and happy customers.

Today was the kind of day that makes all the kashi* worthwhile. After school I went with a busload of teens to a home for orphans and we just played games with them and actually learned one from them. Their smiles and excitement were priceless....

Hahaha, no, I just meant that the 'Tank was busy compared to everywhere else. Sheesh, you people. Always looking for the worst possible interpretation of any mention of the 'Tank.
Congrats to Sarge (for getting rid of his C.O. shortly) and Savor Dam (for full-time gainful employment)!
I ought to be in bed. I agreed to work at the partner retreat, and only *then* found out that they wanted me in at 7am both today and tomorrow (well, yesterday and today, now, I guess). This is seriously at odds with my usual schedule....
Goodnight, all.
