Duchess, that black box runs a movie like trailer that plays some cool background music while running the words that V-S put down.
It doesn't work on all browsers. I had to open IE to run it. It's neat but my only comment is that the trailer takes a long time to download, and a lot of people will be there and gone by the time it does unless they are on a fast connection.
Like the link to the watch.

... then visit the srd.com site again and click Refresh. Normally if a browser doesn't have the necessary plug-in, it will prompt you to install it from the proper site. Not sure why that didn't do it in this case.
(it does work in both IE and Netscape for me - what browser and version are people running where it's not working properly?)
That's nice Darth! Amy the discussion board is in About the Author, but I didn't want to tell you I wanted you to find out on your own, more fun that way... Yes Brian's analysis is quite ..er..interesting to say the least. I was sad last night cause I couldn't hear the music-but then again I haven't reset Windows Media since I reconfirgured my comp a week ago-DUH!
Well, I downloaded that flashplayer thing, rebooted my computer not once, but twice -- and still nothing but a black box. I guess some things are just not meant to be.
I think if you see the black box, it means that you do have Flash installed - but you just need to wait for it to fully load. The are some words on the first page of the trailer that are meant as a delaying tactic (look at the words on page 1 while page 2 loads in the backgroun), but it sounds like that "streaming" (downloading and viewing one page at a time) isn't working correctly.
This is amazing! I love the site! And I love the trailer! I want the Runes of the Earth now!!!
btw, that brown cannot have been the same brown as we had for a short while here (why? Since I loved the SRD-site brown... )... I think it might have been too much yellow in the text too - perhaps the text should be light-yellow? And keep the orange down to a minimum...
It just occurred to me... If I was an author who was getting an official website, and I needed a discussion board to go with it, I would spend a good amount of time looking at them before I picked one. Anybody worried that he might have read YOUR posts? heh
