Hump Day!!

In America, Wednesday is known as "hump" day because it's like getting over the top of the hill of the middle of the week. After Wednesday, the usual work week begins to wind down... It ain't Friday, but...

Hm! You know what "hump" is a euphemism for here in the UK? Like some northerners say they've had a "bang" meaning an electric shock. :D
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

Hump has several uses here in the States...
The one I believe you are alluding to...
dance related to the one I believe you are alluding to...
and or course the noun, like on a camel...
[which is related to the hump day use, naturally]
and carrying a bunch of heavy crap on a long walk...[mostly G.I.'s use that one]

Happy hump day! Short hump this week -- Monday was a holiday. But sometimes the 4-day weeks seem the longest...

When I put the banana dancer up, I wasn't considering how much it does seem to allude to a particular meaning of "hump", which was not my intention. :oops:

"Hump" also has a number of meanings in the US, including ...you know (more often applied to dogs rather than people). It can also mean "to work very hard", or to move fast ("Let's hump it or we'll be late").

Anyway, it being Thursday in West Africa, we're "over the hump". :D
