It's the second book in a 3-book series. The first book was called Leviathan Wakes. It was nominated for a Hugo Award last year and came in third.

The third book, called Abaddon's Gate, is due out in June.

I read Caliban's War in about 24 hours, give or take.

Tried a couple of times and I don't think I've ever been able to get to the end of the first page

Just finished Blue Remembered Earth by Alastair Reynolds. Not bad, some interesting technological ideas (has a space elevator on Mars, which I haven't seen before). He seems to be big on human/machine integration and AI. A bit drawn out in the end and he was obviously saving some stuff for the next couple of books in the series. Probably could have been a really decent single book, dunno if I'll read the next one.

Just finished The Alien Years by Robert Silverberg. Reasonably good standalone sci-fi novel. It's an alien invasion story with an interesting angle.

Started Tehanu. Immediately noticing how much better written it is than the earlier Earthsea novels (there's a 20-year gap!) and how the book is in part a feminist response to the unquestioned patriarchal society we were introduced to in A Wizard of Earthsea.

I so hope the short story Dragonfly is next on your list, murrin. I think it is my favorite of the cycle, for reasons which would become apparent to those who know me; and as Duchess says regarding it over on the Hangar:

Dragonfly functions as a very important bridge between Tehanu and The Other Wind. But it is also a very good story in its own right, as Highdrake just showed us.
The characters are interesting (I especially like the Master Patterner and Master Doorkeeper), and the story itself is VERY well written...

I do have the Tales from Earthsea collection to read some time. My order of The Other Wind went on hold and had no delivery in sight, so got cancelled.
