HAHAAHAHHAHA!!! No, it absolutely is NOT. We had an elohimfest a few years back and a British watcher, Covenant Jr. was here for it and so was dlbphmd from Tennessee. They were making each other say colloquial expressions from their home towns to hear what it would sound like in a completely different accent and it was hysterical. Dozy Bint is a British expression. That was just my fave one of the bunch.

I have a co-worker who likes to try to startle me by suddenly appearing out from behind stuff and so far he has yet to make me even bat an eyelash and I keep telling him his ninja-fu is weak. I've told him stories about my ninja-fu and I don't think he quite believed me until I made him jump, throw his price labels in the air and yell, "Oh Jesus!" He admitted that my ninja-fu is impressive and was shocked that I got that close without him being even a tiny bit aware. I'll write the details in my blog for those of you who care to read for a good laugh. I'm also going to post my very favorite ninja sequence of events since I thought about it today and it made me laugh a lot.

My husband loves to tell the story of when he was young, he was at a friend's house and her boyfriend called to say he was on his way with a case of beer, was there room in the fridge?

So they emptied the fridge of everything-- including shelves and drawers and hid it all, and as they boyfriend pulled into the driveway, Stag got inside....

He said the guy literally just about died, it took him about a half-hour to recover, meanwhile Stag and the friend died over and over again laughing. :)

Bint is actually Arabic for daughter...I believe it became a derogatory term during the British occupation of Egypt during WWII.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Just knew it was British slang.

Interesting. Binta is a common Hausa name or nickname for a young woman (like the 80's "Betty" in the US); Hausa is heavily derivative of Arabic...

Fawn of the Dawn traveled to another West African country for a week with some friends and is having a grand time... I'm getting a taste of "empty nest"...

Wow, that is interesting. Now get you recording your voice saying, Av. I need that thread.

I had an ok day. I went and ran errands, one of which was getting a new bedframe. I got it home and started putting it together and got it all set and turns out it's about two inches short for the box spring. Ain't no getting around that so I had to take the footboard off of it. Also I forgot to take in the measurements of the mattress and box spring height so it's way too tall for the mooseman to jump into. Therefore I had to set up a step which makes my path through the room into a tiny corridor. I'll have to live with it for now until I come up with some alternative. Very frustrating. I'm thinking of just getting some boards cut to fit the width and doing away with the box spring and turning it into a platform bed. Need to think on it though.

Yaa-ay!
"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor

Did anyone get a screenshot of the Watch hitting 900,000? I seem to have missed it by 18 posts.

I hadn't even noticed Murrin. Sorry.

I'm tired. I worked from 11am to 8:30pm today without a lunch and only three quickie smoke breaks. I was slammed in the copy center. I did well past my goal and still have several large jobs that are to be paid at pickup so we've got some padding for tomorrow's numbers. However, I am TIRED. Tomorrow I get to go do it all over again. Whoooo hoo! (Insert sarcastic overly massive grin with two thumbs up next to each face cheek here) Av, we need that emoticon.

Thanks!

I have to say that one of the new found joys of driving a monster jeep is that parking next to the mini cooper in the parking lot takes on a whole new dimension of amusement.
