Liquid sunshine? :)

:( I dropped in on my supervisor to ask a question and he ended up mentioning that he had "concerns" about some of the content of my teaching... but he would follow up with me later in the week about it... I'm teaching the curriculum I was given to teach, so I don't understand what the concerns could be, and to be honest I felt like quitting today for the first time, ever.

I know I'm just not in a great frame of mind or it wouldn't bother me that much. I'm just under too much stress in general, and didn't need more doubt today. (waah, waah, I know. )

I'm sorry to hear that!! |G

Ick... the vague statement of apparent disapproval that just makes you nervous without giving you specific information content. :(

The thing being that it's so close to the end of the year that it's almost more annoying than unnerving. He even apologized for not getting to me sooner about it. :-x Oh anyway, I felt much better after a day with my students. They're what it's about, not my sups approval. :D

Uncertain whether to be pleased my self-coloring of my hair to refresh my color has generated no comments from those who have seen it so far (hoping because I did a good job), or disappointed it has gone unnoticed...

Pleased with myself that (having not seen the prior post) that one of the first things said to Menolly when I got home from work was to notice her renewed dye job.

Yeah, the brownie points for that (and FourBux) will get me a cup of coffee. :P

Hello y'all! I'm back (again- this sporadic return thing is becoming a bad habit).

The past month has been pretty hectic- coming back down to my own place in Wellington and settling back in to regular life. Sorting out hospital follow ups and plans for long term management of crohn's, going back to work, arranging finances...busy stuff! But I am feeling happy and healthy and positive about the future. Had a great week last week seeing TOOL in Auckland and spending quality time with my semi-official long distance girlfriend. :D

On a less positive note, one of my good friends who also has crohn's went in recently for an operation very similar to the one I had. Her recovery was far less stable, and they have had to put her in an induced coma 8O. All her friends have been gathering around her partner to give him companionship and support these past few days.

Well, it's good to see you around, although I'm sorry to hear about your friend.

(And yes...bad habit...easy fix though...stop being sporadic and just stick around. ;) )

Sorry about your friend, Cambo! Tell her to hang in there. And sporadic or not, keep coming back.

I'm so tired. Monday is our last day of actual school, then finals for the remainder. Last night was the choir concert (I teach choir so was the conductor) and tonight I had to lead a church meeting, today in school I was toast and the kids were toast and we just watched movies, to be honest (they were relevant... but I still feel a little like a slacker).

How do I feel? Very annoyed at the moment. I just spent the best part of an hour on one of the US state archives sites trying to order some naturalisation papers. Firstly I had to read a whole load of blurb, then find out how to order on-line, got registered only to find out that the form I have to fill in has choosable dates starting 1868 and I want 1859!! So I spent another 15 minutes putting all the information into an email and when I finally submitted it I was timed out. What a waste of time! Here I can just wing off an email and receive whatever I've ordered as a Jpeg or PDF file a couple of days later. :x
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

Sitting with a few ciders watching the Eurovision song contest.

Political voting at its most corrupt - unmissable TV though, and Graeme Nortons voice over commentry can be hilarious at times.

Eurovision's bringing out all the reasons to hate TV Licensing. I have no licence, so I can't watch on TV with Graham Norton's commentary, fine. But because they're broadcasting it on TV, I also can't (legally) watch the live feed directly from the Eurovision website, with no commentary, which every person in the world with internet access except for those in Britain has free access to.

It's ridiculous: I can open up the BBC's official website and watch any pre-recorded show I like that's on there, free, with no TV licence. But I can't watch a live web broadcast from an independant site that has nothing to do with British television because the BBC is broadcasting it at the same time.

In order to watch "Merlin" from the BBC UK website (instead of waiting for it to show up on NBC here in the US), I would have had to mask my Internet address and uh, tell an untruth about whether I had a TV license. Whether I actually did that or not, I am not saying....

For me, today is the first day of the longest week on the calendar: the week before vacation. Gonna get on a big silver bird on Sunday and fly to Alaska for a little over a week. Looking forward to the vacation; the week upcoming, not so much.

Deer, happy last day of school! :S I think if your administrator had been *very* concerned about what you were doing, he would have spoken to you much sooner. But it sucks that he sprang it on you the way he did.

Thanks, but... meh, I don't even care anymore. :P

Here I posted a video montage with a song I wrote for Fawn of the dawn, who graduates in a week. Pretty personal stuff to share, but I trust you people. :)
