What fantasy/science fiction book are you reading RIGHT NOW?

A place for anything *not* Donaldson.

Broke off from Equal Rites (Terry P) to read Annealed by Lynne Cantwell, now back to ER.
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

Finished Hyperion (was great, though the cliffhanger ending a bit frustrating). Starting on A Canticle for Liebowitz. Like Hyperion, this is a book I've seen mentioned repeatedly in different places, so my interest is piqued.

My favorite stand alone novel (even though there was a sequel published many years later. Canticle works better as a stand alone for me).

Right now I'm listening to Fatal Revenant by some guy named Stephen R. Donaldson. Not sure if any of you are familiar with his works.

After that ... I dunno. Maybe Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams.

I think I may have listened to that one before ;)

Oh, and anyone who listens to Audios and likes Doctor Who, Big Finish is giving away 8 free downloads (Total of about 5 1/2 hours over the 8 stories), to give a free sample of various ranges, I assume under the belief they be exposing you to something that will lead you to buy more (No membership or purchase required). I love the Big Finish Audioplays, and am actually looking to start on a new Series/Range in the Doctor Who universe soon, so this was a gold mine of samples for me

I finished The Handmaid's Tale. The ending would be infuriatingly ambiguous if it wasn't for the "Historical Notes" at the end, which give you a small idea of what might have happened to Offred.

I've started Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch. I considered rereading The Lies of Locke Lamora first, because I can barely remember any of it, but decided to just go ahead anyway.

Finished A Canticle for Liebowitz, now I'm reading Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. Only other book of his I've read was Slaughterhouse Five. I very much enjoy his writing style.

Only read Wild Seed and Mind of my Mind, and started Clay's Ark now. But I like her a lot so far. Nice ideas about telepathy. A very interesting villain. And her style is very centered on the characters, what they're thinking and feeling, without bothering me with the surroundings/landscape.
