The heat can be attributed to it being late June. It's not Phoenix like. For a couple of months it would be ok. It also doesn't have the humidity of the East. Not used to having rattlesnakes around though. There were signs at the pueblos warning about them.

today I began part 2 of my dental adventures. I have hairline fractures in my upper and lower jaw due to past 'city manager' stress. Apparently my upper jaw is a mess too. Another implant, more cadaver grafts.....sigh.....and this one has the added gift of an imbedded wisdom tooth in my sinus. So I need sinus surgery as well. My dental insurance is only paying for the extraction so this will cost me another 7 grand, totaling 15 grand so far.

At least I have hope of fixing this snoring problem since they may fix my deviated septum along with the sinus. Then I can stop being embarrassed about it.

Eeee, no fun. I'm on the same road, albeit an earlier stage. Stress is no good, and that's the understatement of the year.

Lorin!!! Get well soon!

I have some very good news. I went on an interview with Midas (Franchised and the owner owns 5 locations around Alb) I interviewed with the general manager, Chris who is the right hand man of the owner. He only had my simple resume to go on and as we got to talking he realized the extent of my experience. Towards the very end of the interview, the owner came in and since it was an open office area, he got to listen to the last part. Chris offered me the job with a lowball figure so I told them I needed to think about it and would get back to them. Chris called me Thursday, just past noon to ask if I had any other questions or concerns and to see how my decision making was going. I had Grace all day so I told him that I would like to talk to them again but preferred to do it in person. We scheduled for this morning and when I got there, it was a whole different ball game. I am thinking they had one hell of a talk because I was interviewed by the owner briefly and then we just got to talking about the industry and how I ran other shops and so forth and the owner kept grinning and saying that he loved how I put things and that my thinking was EXACTLY the kind of thinking he needs in his shops and so at the end they offered me a significant amount more to start and also an assistant manager position rather than just as a service writer and told me they plan to put me on fast track training at all the stores with the intent of having me become a store manager at one of the locations within 3-4 months. Then they informed me that once that transition happens I'll be making significantly more than twice what they are starting me at. To the point where if I run the shop right I could easily be making six figures... That is hecka good for this area!!! I'm so excited. Oh and I also told them I refuse to wear the man clothes at which they both laughed and said as long as I am appropriately dressed for both at the counter and in the shop that they would be just fine with a name tag bearing the Midas logo. So all I have to say right now is one of my favorite Lucimay quotes... WHOOOO HOOOODY!!!!!!

They are best known for installing mufflers, silencers in the UK, on cars. They do other minor repair and upkeep work as well.

Well, I survived the convention, and it was actually pretty cool. I met about 16 people from my guild, none of whom were axe-murderers. We even met a couple of ex-players who had been in the guild back in the day and hadn't even known we were going to be there.

We were the only WoW guild running a booth, and the whole setup with our new logo and everything came out really nice. Whether we'll get many new members remains to be seen, but I think it was worth it even just for everyone to get together.
