Snow on the Peninsula is practically unknown, fortunately. That narrow landspit from Silicon Valley to the Golden Gate has the Bay to the East and the Pacific to the West. The right weather conditions for snow there are almost unattainable.

When we first moved south, we didn't expect snow, but when there was a snow storm predicted the first winter we were here, we discovered that the city had snow plows. They put the crew on alert, but as it hadn't snowed by 2am they sent them home. Snow started at 4am, so when the crew were preparing to go in, they couldn't make it in as the city was in chaos...aliantha wrote:If they'd plow the roads around here *as the snow is falling*, it would be okay. But nooooo, Virginia's not a northern state, we can't afford to have an adequate snow-removal response, it doesn't snow often enough to justify the cost, etc.

I'm not surprised. The Lady Morgana usually sleeps on the radiator when the heat is on here.

"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."

Ah. Thank you. I knew of another fantasy series that has spaceships and intelligent cats in charge of... many things.
So I thought it might be that one.
Or a play on "RCMP".
Too bad I can't ask questions about this Min. (Spoilers, wrong subforum etc)

You can say it as many times as you want, but I'll still agree with Av.
Min Donner is technically my nemesis. Feline Min may not have nearly as much power as her namesake, but she is very much in charge around these parts - who could say no to that face?
