Agreed, and a big cause of this drop off (as we have also noticed here) has been the rise of Facebook. Maybe we should do a paper on it Image

Interesting article MsMary. U, I think we have ourselves exceeded the usual life-cycle. Including the original EZ Board, this is the 15th year of KW.

It's unbelievable, in a way, that we survived EZ Board.

So that guy's made only 27K posts at Rotten Tomatoes, huh? Pfft. ;)

Av, I think that we are in what I will hazard to call the 3rd stage of the forum life-cycle. There's the Start-up, the Hey-day and the Twilight (don't tell Effy or Frosty!). I don't know if there is a 4th stage (maybe the Fade-Out :( ). My best guess isn't that we've exceeded the usual life-cycle, but that we are in the middle of one of the stages, a bit like the person talking about Rotten Tomatoes. There's no doubt that we are having a good run (post, post, post!) and it may be all part of the whole cycle.

Well, by cycle I thought you meant life expectancy. If instead, as you appear to, you meant "stage of development" then I mostly agree. Other options probably include "Revival" or "Plateau," which last I would settle for. :D

I'd settle for "plateau". "Revival" sounds like too much work.

"Plateau" seems appropriate given our namesake.

Kevin's Monadnock, if we want to be geomorphologically precise.

Speaking of revival, I'd run a Pantheon spin-off from the Arc storyline if there were enough people interested.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

I don't know about it being too subtle. It is a bit SRD-ish.

It's a bit of an in-joke, Sorus. Goes back to a 'Tank thread a while back and I used it in this post when Syl asked us to say nice things about him for his 10th Watch Anniversary

Maybe the Watch would be more active if I started threatening more to demod mods who don't post anymore.

All in favor of demodding Creator, say "Aye"!
