[Quick question; each post has a time of posting on it. Is this the time in the posters country or are all times converted to the viewers time region. It's probably a silly question - but hey, wouldn't want to spoil my rep now by suddenly asking stuff that made sense. ;) ]

It's in whatever time zone you have your profile set to, I think. Unless it pulls the time from your computer. I forget which it is (and am too lazy to check right now...).

GMT always translates to Galactic Midnight Time for me. I thought I got that from somewhere, but there are no matches when I Google it.

I think there might be a two-minute story in there somewhere.

Perhaps you did not get it from somewhere, but I'll take it and claim it as my own! Mwahaha! :evilfoul:

What MsMary said. So it should be your own time zone. I set mine to GMT though for some reason, when I'm actaully GMT+2. (UTC is not an option in the software IIRC.)

It was your last post that made me ask Av. You said 'A new day' [or whatever] at [your post time] 4.30 am ish and I thought "Man, that Av is an early riser!" - but then realised it might be my UK time was 4.30 [or whatever] and in actuallity you might in fact be what my great garandfather would have described as a 'lazy liggerbed' [when he used to haul my father out to milk 40 cows by hand at 6 am in the morning]. In fact SA and UK are never far apart re time are they so in likely hood you were in fact up at some ungodly hour of the morning after all, but lets not complicate things ;) .

Seeing as it's Av, I was expecting South African time. But I didn't look at the time stamp, I just assume South African time. However far off that is far Eastern Daylight Time in the US. :P

UK time is 5 hours different from here (4 during DST).

Mine is Galactic Midnight-8, and it's off by an hour, perhaps in denial of DST.

Greenwich Mean Time sounds like something that would lurk under your bed and steal your socks.

 Yes, that was 06h10 or so for me. Not ungodly perhaps, but certainly not lay-a-bed either. ;)

I think UKer's are probably one of the latest rising peoples, possibly in the world. In almost every country I've been to people tend to be 'up and doing' [ie en mass rather than just the few early workers] earlier than we are. It's often a weather related thing [avoiding the heat of the day etc] - but often not. Now us Cornish on the other hand.......

Well, you're the only country I know where work usually starts at 09h00. :D

I arrive at the office at 06h00, which means I'm up just after 5.

Definitely not the only, if you mean the UK. In the US some places start at that time also. Some start at 8. Most don't start as early as 6. Even day shift nursing and hospital staff don't generally start till 7 here, although the are some departments with different types of shifts. Like I would imagine cafeteria workers come in earlier. Also, security staff comes in earlier.

I don't have to be. Technically my hours are 07h00-16h00. (15h30 on Mondays and Fridays.)

But when I was doing a huge commute at my old job, I got used to leaving and being in early, so now it's just habit. Gives me time to get my shit together, y'know? :D
