I've given in to technology at last. Bought myself a small lap top that can also be a tablet so that I can use it at the Archives instead of bringing stuff home and spending all night typing. The aim is to have more time to do other things. No doubt other other things will turn up to take up the time saved. Tried it out on Wednesday and it works OK. Even got the Cloud thingy set up so I can upload and download from PC to Laptop and vice versa. Feeling quite pleased with myself. I still think it's easier with a stick though.

Off to a weekend conference at a plush hotel tomorrow till Sunday. Not all play - have to do the reception desk on Friday and play the instrument for the church service Sunday morning. Must dig out the posh frock for the dinner Saturday night.

We're here until April 12, unless Nigeria 'splodes after the elections, in which case we're in limbo. For the sake of the people of Nigeria I hope it does not explode.

FIL has had two good days in a row. I think a few people leaving reduces the stress. Settling an estate proves to be lots and lots of work. And my BIL was a very orderly person. He had folded his laundry and cooked his weekly meals and we just don't understand why he suddenly decided to bail...

Central NY is about as dreary as you can possibly imagine, but a lot to give thanks for. Since we are used to Africa we're okay with Dad keeping the thermostat at 80 degrees, and there's food and internet. I just finished a huge project for my Masters and discovered I hate the book I was reading so I'm off to Amazon to find something worthwhile. Having time to read is really cool too.

I'm really sorry about your brother in law, Deer. It's a hard thing.

I am stuck home hooked to a bunch of tubes. Its driving me nuts but it is what it is. Soon the spring and the sun will return and I can't think of a better healing than the sun.

For me, it's inventory at work, which means working all weekend. It's going to be a long week. And work satisfaction is at an all-time low, so any free time will be spent on the job hunt, futile as it seems.

I hear ya, those in the Northeast. It was cold enough here to snow today, but thankfully it didn't. Just two weeks before the cherry trees are supposed to be at peak bloom....

That's really deep on some level.

So I was in Costa Rica. I booked my return flight on Friday, March 13th. (Orion's pic reminded me of this). I was packing to go back that morning, determined to get the heck home, and rumble rumble rumble, the earth shook.
So I step outside my cottage and look up the hill. A volcano that was only 2 miles from where I was staying went off. A mini St. Helens. It is quite a site. It kind of mushrooms in gray gunk. So they shut the airport and we all got masks to wear when we left the house.

It was no biggie for the 'Tica's but it kind of freaked me out. As it turned out I was in no shape to travel anyway so it turned out to be a good thing.

The being in no shape to travel and, upon getting home being hooked up to a bunch of tubes both sound kind of miserable.

I feel like I've been here talking to everyone. but in reality, I've just been lurking and reading what's up with y'all.

I have a frustrating health thingy that I'm dealing with right now.
Bumped the Depression thread in the Close since depression often goes with it... and some of these weeks have not been so great.

I'm le tired. Worked late Friday night to early Saturday. Got called into work Saturday afternoon. DD-ed a bunch of drunks Saturday evening, and fixed a dryer Sunday.
