Yay! Hope to see you while you visit Denver, Ali. We'll work out a meet.

I tried a new recipe recently that was a bit of a success. There is a place nearby that I've always loved their dish called Hummus bi Shawarma. It's basically hummus encircling a pile of chicken in shawarma marinade/sauce that you consume with pita. It's always yummy, even though this restaurant doesn't have that great of hummus. My wife found a great recipe for hummus that we've used for the last year or two. I finally looked up a shawarma recipe and made it up and replicated what this restaurant does, and it turned out delightful.
Now I just need to figure out how to make homemade pita that is yummy instead of the dried up stale pita I get at the store, and I'll be happy.

Maybe this needs to be over in the foodie section of the Watch, but hey...I wanted to share.

Yes, that's Director Donner sitting in front of my TV. (Possibly using top-secret UMCP stealth tech.) Wouldn't it be more surprising if my avatar didn't feature a cat? Okay, my BSG avatars are catless, but when's the last time I used one of those?

When do you head back east, Ali?

hello Jenn! nice to see you here.

well my boss has done it again. I am changing cards supposedly. I work Sun-Wed now, but she has told me I will be working Wed-Sun. and I will be losing my ride, since my boss is splitting me up with the sergeant who I carpool with.

it was switching cards or working at the Trusty Camp. and I do not want that. relief is sketchy so you never know when you are going to finish your shift.

I'll find out when the Captain gets around to it. of course I have already made concert and vacation plans based on my current schedule.

or maybe I win the lottery and we move back to New Hampshire. :)

Feeling very tired but had a lovely day with Frosty. We have well and truly "done" the Castle. :-) Tomorrow, Flag Fen (bronze age site) and Peterborough.
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

Things are peaceful over here, even though this week is a "tired and weak week."
A friend came over today and that was great.
I keep wanting to say stuff here on the Watch, but I'm tired and achey. Yeah..

Ah neat, sarge!
But what is "c/o"? I've forgotten and/or haven't figured it out yet...

I came here because I feel like babbling about how stuff is going well. (!!!)

These past three days I've woken up at 6:20 and wanted to get up then.
This morning, I went walking in a Forest Preserve with a friend.
I took my kids to homeschool "Open Gym" 2 days ago.
And it looks like I got a new tutoring student in a fun subject this week. :)

This second half of chemo is a different drug from the stuff I got in the first four treatments.
(That's part of one standard treatment plan.)
And this one is treating me waaaaay better.
For about 10 days out of every 14, I have energy!
Annnddd it's spring.

c/o is correctional officer.

for my birthday Julie bought me many comic books, a couple graphic novels, a Greg Gutfield book, English version of the Office (the complete first series!) on dvd, a Jason Bateman dvd - Bad Words, a couple magazines (Mental Floss, RS) and NFL draft preview magazine.

plus she had already bought me Rush tickets and tickets to see Puddles the Clown.

and we ate at Chick-Fil-A.

while at work last morning i was not feeling well. felt like i had been kicked in the chest, got a blinding headache and nodded off sitting at my desk. had my c/o come over from the building and take me home.

at the hospital got nitro (in case) and two different pain meds. they ran enzymes, ruled out my heart and diagnosed probable pancreatitis.

so i am not allowed to work til i see my doctor tomorrow. and i am on a liquid diet. and no alcohol for over a week. maybe more.

our dog suffers from pancreatitis. we have to cook him chicken, rice and veggies. any canned food has to be grain free.

the headache will not go away.

did get more comics for my birthday on Saturday. it was free comic day and there was a sale.

Headaches are the worst. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm dreading tomorrow as I have a double workload under generally dismal circumstances. But I get to be up to my eyeballs in kittens after work, so there's that to look forward to.

Being unable to change things, the trick is not to bother dreading it. ;) Easier said than done I know, but helpful if possible. :D

It's like ironing. It looks good when it's done but the doing is not so enjoyable.

Hope you are feeling better Sarge.

Today I am feeling old.
